Pros: The look of the vehicle
Cons: The navigation system
Advice: stay away from this vehicle!!!!!!!!I saved my hard earned money so I could purchase my Audi A6. There have been problems since day one. I have had my car for almost a year and it has spent more time in the shop than in my garage. The dashboard lights flicker and at 1st Audi could not find out what was causing this. They had to order some kind of relay that is not available here in The U.S. They fixed it, then the breaks would always squeel, They have replaced brakes and rotors all the way around and the car still does it. They had the car in their shop for 8 days waiting on brake kits in hope of one that will stop my car from squeeling. I have since researched my car and found out all about the Audi fires they used to have in the A6 and now regret buying my car. Don't buy this car, and might I add Audi has not made this situation easy for me they are going out of their way to try to get me to keep this car, I have contacted a lawyer and am seeking counsil to help me get out of this deal with the bank.
Pros: The look and the drive
Cons: May be a bit too big
Advice: I think you can save 10 to 15K if you buy this car 1 year used.I bought the 2005 A6 with 15000 miles on it. I bought it for $42500 in Chicago, IL. It runs beautifully. I love the spacious inside, the computerized system, and the natural beauty. It drives so well. I have not had any problems with it so far. I also love the service plan which makes it easy and convenient. So far, I have no complaints!
Pros: the way it drove
Cons: It's broken with no parts to fix it in this country
Advice: don't do itI bought this car new. In 2500 miles, the 'smart start' quit, the transmission quit and the airbag light had been on for 2000 miles. Worse than that the parts were not aviable in this county! The car has been in the shop for a week, with no end in site and no loaner. The car was awesome in every way, but this frustration is over the top and if you want something you can count on this is not the car! It's no fun having a new hot car sitting in the shop I traded off a Jag to avoid this problem!
Pros: The rich, inviting and gorgeous interior
Cons: That they all don't come with 17+inch wheels standard
Advice: Get one with a warranty... after all, it is German.Just bought a pre-owned with only 20K miles on it and I love it so far. First day with it I took it through the mountains from Phoenix to Flagstaff. Ascending 5000 feet it seemed I was the only one on the road with some power under the hood. This car is beautiful in it's Bauhaus styling, mostly 'cause it looks nothing like the ugly bangelized BMW's now on the market. Plus, with the cost of a 3-series being the same as an A6 not an A4... why buy the same tiny 'me too' machine that every frat boy's parent's buy him for graduation!? The A6 is a real, luxurious and substantial car.
Cons: It only goes 160
Advice: enjoyIf you want to spend an additional $15,000 on a BMW 540i, be my guest. You can add your name to a throughly crowded list of BMW drivers -- they're everywhere. If you want something unique that will catch a lot of looks and enjoy a great driving experience, the Audi A6 S-liine is the way to go. All the whictles and bells and all the performance you need.
Pros: Performace - great acceleration and handling!
Cons: Although it has all-wheel drive
Advice: Be prepared for scuffs on the Sport Rims.Great car! I think you get an extra 15 hp with the S-line, over the A6 2.7T (I'm @ 265 hp vs. 250 hp) Great buy, for performance & luxury. I was expected to spend $15k more for BMW 5 series with similar performance.
Pros: It will soon be gone.
Cons: Tire wear
Advice: Dont buy an A6 at any price.Loved my 2000 A4, hate the A6. Eats tires, interior finish comes off, popping suspension, windows don't work in the cold....JUNK.
