Pros: Standard 6 disk in dash CD player & power folding mirrors
Cons: Wheel selection
Advice: A6 3.0 is a better deal than a fully loaded A4 3.0 Go for the A6!!
My wife drives a 96 A4 and we loved the way it drives, however the back seat is way too small. The A6 3.0 Q is a great bargian for a sport/luxury car and Audi is the best at all wheel drive. The lighter engine gives the A6 excellent acceleration and with the tipronic it is a fun car to drive. Some question the The non-linear steering but I like it. This is an awesome automoblie for the price.Pros: road feel
Cons: functional look
Advice: get it!
What an experience. New 2002 A4 3 litre is without a doubt the best/performance/price value I have ever experienced. (I have owned a BMW Z M, 530i, 325xi, Jag 3.0 X type, in both manual and automatic versions). The A4 has throaty power and performance and holds the road like you are driving on railroad tracks. It is very roomy inside and beautifully appointed. This new version looks like last year's A6 sizewize. Fully loaded, with all the feattures, it was $35,000. Unbelievable!Pros: 4WD (quatro)
Cons: cupholder, you can't close your garage door with the homelink feature if car is off.
Advice: go get it.
Beautiful and smooth handling (not soft). You really want to drive it more and more, and it is tough to decide wether you'll take the highway to go fast, or the scenic route, to feel the road in this car.Pros: Quattro ESP
Cons: Width of centre console
Advice: Take it round a tight hairpin at 60mph in the wet. It surprised the hell out of me how stable it was.
The handling in poor/slippery conditions is unparallelled. Quite simply this car had the best balance of comfort, luxury, looks, performance and price. Also it's not as common as a 3 series...yet !Pros: Quattro
Cons: remote trunk release location
Advice: you must test drive this car before buying another make
This is my 3rd Quattro in 11 years, and this is the best (plus 2 Beemers). The 1.8T engine is amazing, but a 6 speed would help to bring the rev's down on the freeway. The standard suspension (w/16in wheels/all season tires) is outstanding, and plenty firm enough - unless you want to autocross! I'm 6ft, and rear seat room is fine, if you need more buy an A6. In short this is one terrific sport sedan.Pros: quattro
Cons: rear leg room
Advice: 3.0 engine needed to bring out performance
like a moving snow drift traction unbelievable live in buffalo n.y. area when on dry pavement handling feels like nascar auto.Pros: Power and torque
Cons: The fact that I didn't buy one.
Advice: Snatch this baby up.
I am considering this over a BMW 325i. I test drove them both and this car blew me away. I had no idea that a 4 cylinder can hit 100 coming off an on-ramp onto I-64... This car is amazing and priced around what I am looking to spend. Anyone who has one please email me. I would love to hear from you.
