Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Drive train.
Cons: Could use a little wider leg well.
Advice: I'm glad I got the 6 cylinder. But you'll save a bundle if you can live with the 1.8T.I went without the sport package. I was willing to sacrifice a little handling performance for a slightly smoother ride and all season tires. I heard this year's regular suspension is roughly what last year's sport suspension was anyway. A vey well finished interior. I thought it was much nicer than the BMW 3 series. Very contemporary exterior with a lot of class. Somewhat understated at first glance but then you begin to notice the trim. Nice sound system. Great power at all speeds. Tiptronic is nice on a long grade to select the gear you want. But I use the auto sport mode if I'm winding through tight curves on a back road. Great buy.
Pros: SELF ADJUSTING XENON HEADLIGHTS- turn on the car and watch them wink!!
Cons: WINDSHIELD WIPERS-retains water that sprays water after wiping clean. Way too slow also. This is the only disappointing aspect of the vehicle.
Advice: Consider the warranty!!!! 4 years-50,000. Could add up to thousands more in savings over other vehicles.I've owned this car for about 2 months and i have nothing but good things to say about it. I've accrued 3400 miles to date. Handling is excellent with the sport package and the car (1.8 T Polar White/Ebony) has more than enough power with two exceptions. With the A/C on or a full load of passengers/cargo it's a bit sluggish off the line but once the car gets moving you can pass with the best of them. Even if the car isn't lightning fast it sure looks it. Last fri nite, i was driving thru Times Square and the guy next to me asked my how many horsepower it had. Needless to say the guy was behind the wheel of a Viper and he was checking my car out. Enough said. Final word: best value for your hard earned dollar.
Pros: Quattro all wheel drive
Cons: Front end styling
Advice: Those thinking of BMW 3-series or Mercedes C-Class should definitely try the Audi A4When compared with the BMW 3-series and Mercedes C Class, the Audi A4 3.0 really outperformed them. It handles well on curves and cruises wonderfully on the open highway. Definitely a treat to drive.
Cons: no automatic seats
Advice: You have to drive it to believe it.The new CVT engine is phenomenal! I was concerned that the car was going to underpowered, but a long test drive showed that it is just not the case. The car is an amazing value for the sub-$30K price.
Pros: Fit and finish of the interior. Top notch!
Cons: Blind spot on the c-pillar.
Advice: Beware of the esp/abs lights coming on anytime they feel like it. It's in the shop for the third time. I'm not too impressed with the service.Smooth, powerful and comfortable. Quiet, smooth-shifting transmission is great!
Cons: large blind spot(big C-pillar and rear head rest)
Advice: test drive and experience the quattro technologyThis is my first Audi and quattro vehicle. I thought Audi did great job with styling of 2000-2001 model but I am impressed more with 2002 model style. Drive very solid, quiet and very luxurious. Quattro handles like a champ in the rain, no other can much that. There seem to be one second lag when you step on the pedal, then with sudden acceleration. I love the fold out side mirror, drawer under the front seat and automatic sunshade option.
Pros: External shape and beauty of the body.
Cons: Engine could have used another 30 horses
Advice: Drive your car for 20+ miles to see if any unnecessary warning lights come on, before you buy or lease this vehicleDrives great...beware of electrical problems that began with only 6 miles on my odometer! Now its in the shop for my anti-lock brake and traction control warning lights that come on when they feel like it. Audi can't fix it yet either....so I'm headed for my 4th day in the shop, almost in the shop more than I've had it on the road. Car looks great, handles well, has everything right but (perhaps) the quality will not end up being so good?
