Sure, entries like the Fiat 500, Dodge Dart and Jeep Renegade all offer at least some amount of European flair—thanks to the post-bankruptcy merger between Fiat and the Chrysler Group—but it's the 2015 Alfa Romeo that takes things to ye olde next level.

Helping to reboot the Alfa brand here in the United States, the 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C offers incredible performance and unmistakably Italian style, but in a modern, next-gen package that starts at a comparatively affordable $53,900. Oh, and more to the point, it was just named the "Best Performance and Luxury Car to Buy" by the editorial team at Motor Authority.

Note: The 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C has initially debuted with a short run of just 500 "Launch Edition" models, priced from $68,400, with the standard version expected in the near-term future.
