Pros: Size...lighter and more agile than most sedans
Cons: premium fuel
Advice: great choice...does a lot of things well, without sacrifice of comforts
Great handling, sporty, good size with sedan benefits, good economy, excellent reliability, good mileage on highwayPros: In-dash 6 disc CD changer
Cons: Heated front seats (I live in Florida, so it's rarely needed)
Advice: Just enjoy it and keep up with the maintenance schedule
I bought the car with 149 miles on it in April of 2004. Now, a year and a half later it has 53,000 miles on it. So far, it's been extremely reliable, comfortable, and economical. It's quiet, quick enough to make driving fun and handles great. There has not been any repairs needed. The stereo works well, the power equipment works like new. The leather seats are in like new shape. I've driven it to California and back to Florida last year. This year, we drove it all through New England and made close to 30 mpg on the highway. Highly recommended!Pros: Superb blend of performance and practicality
Cons: Rear vis reduced by hi trunk; abrupt headlight cutoff at top of beam is awkward in hills.
Advice: Don't be put off by 4-cyl. This engine is powerful, smooth, and gets good mileage.
A complete package, great value. Very quick, quiet, smooth; handles like a dream. Surprisingly spacious (more rear legroom than a TL!) Excellent seats. Good headroom (I'm 6'1'.) Spacious trunk (the benefit to offset the less than perfect rear visibility), but the opening isn't as large as some might like. 6-sp manual is tight, fun to drive. And with gas shooting above $2.20/gal, what could be better than a 'hot' car that will thrive on ANY grade of gas? I haven't run it with Regular, but I can't detect any performance reduction at all with midgrade BP gas, though Acura predicts a tradeoff. The iTec four always pulls very strongly and smoothly at all RPMs. More power would get me in trouble, yet my mileage approaches 30. My '96 Infiniti G-20 is still a great car, but the TSX is superior in most ways, inferior in none. Ten years of automotive progress perfectly illustrated. Thanks to Karen at Ed Voyles Acura, Atlanta.Pros: handling
Cons: rattle at the windshield...fixed by dealer...no charge
Advice: buy it
I have a 2002 V6 Accord. After commuting in the TSX, I thought that the Accord was a better commuting vehicle due to its softer ride. A month later, I commuted in the Accord. Wrong...missed the TSX...slightly harsher ride, not as much torque, but a better driving experience. Also, this car corners like no other car that I have owned. The 4 cylinder pulls well throughout the rpms, although likes to be above 3000. I own an Accord, an Infiniti, and a Jeep...only drive the TSX.Pros: Quality, sound system, handling, fit and finish, interior styling.
Cons: Dosn't have auto locking doors
Advice: Test drive
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!BM What??????????Pros: 'Sewing machine' smooth engine
Cons: Stock Michelins are not a great match to the chassis
Advice: No nav unless you get lost a lot - the Acura ergos are nicer without a touch screen
I'm a somewhat Honda/Acura biased guy (our last 4 vehicles) but it cannot be noted enough what a balanced & silky smooth platform the TSX is in either a 5AT or 6MT set up. Perfect balance of engine and chassis (a 3.0 V6 - if available - would upset the dynamics)...Fit & finish is top notch and the usual Honda ergonomics are great. A little more difficult to work on (oil changes et al) than the V6 Honda/Acura platforms but I give the package two thumbs up.Pros: interior styling, fit and finish
Cons: acceleration from a standing start (i did get the AT so that was kind of a given)
Advice: if you're into a balance of elegance and performance, this is the one
suspension made to toss this car around curvy roads. probably not ideal for buyers with children. interior on par with cars twice it's price. for the 'fast and the furious' crowd, this car may seem bland, but for others it looks classy in an understated manner. gas mileage has been great for a car that feels like it could be mistaken for a 6-cylinder. Acura did a great job of giving you alot for a relatively lower price than you'd expect (just check out their website to see what all is included!). on a sidenote: the trunktray and the all weather floor mats were worth every penny ... well, trunktray was thrown in there for me to feel like i was getting a great deal, but buy it if you have to. i bought this car a year ago and also am new to carbuying so i couldnt really haggle with the sticker price yet i feel like i got a great deal anyways.
