Pros: gas mileage
Advice: don't buy this vehicleI am on my 4th transmission in less than 50,000 miles. Honda has major problem with there transmissions, but you never hear about. So far over $15,000 in warranty work. Worse car I have ever owned.
Pros: Near perfect balance of performance and comfort.
Cons: Wish it had automatic headlights. (a minor complaint)
Advice: Shop around. I got the best deal in the next state.I got my 06 6 speed with Navi 2 month ago. My first Acura. Previous car was a Lexus IS300. This car doesn't handle quite as sharply as the IS but it's still pretty good. Not nearly as harsh as the IS was. The larger turning circle takes some getting used to. Stereo and Navi are terrific but voice recognition is not perfect. Clutch is light but has this knee in the middle of the engagement that took some getting used to. My biggest beef is that this car is so good that they are everywhere.
Pros: overall appearance
Cons: constant rattles
Advice: If you can stand the noise, buy it.I just bought a new TL and I have already had it in the shop three times for rattles in the dash, rattles in the door, and rattles in the back. The service technicians have admitted this is a documented problem with the TL's. I wish I had known that before I dropped $33,000 on a new car.
Pros: Long list of standard features
Cons: Dealership experience witth multiple Acura dealers
Advice: Do your homework to avoid being gouged. Make sure you can deal with a firm ride.Clearly the best vehicle in its class. Not quite as precise as a 3-series BMW, but much sharper than the dull offerings from Lexus/Toyota. This is a smart choice. The car comes very well dressed without the need to add options. You get all of the Honda quality, reliability, and praticality with enough luury to make you believe that you are in a much costlier vehicle. The nav system is intuitive and easy to use. The sound system is one of the best OE setups I've ever heard. It just needs a couple hundred watts more power. The ride is taught without being stiff. It may be too firm for some. If a plusher, wallowy ride is your speed, your car is the Avalon or ES 330.
Cons: Nothing. Love it all.
Advice: Check it out. You can't beat the TL for performance, reliability and price. This is my third TL to own and I love the 05 better than the 02 and 03. I like cars that have that look that others stop and look at. And this is it. I have loved the design since the first time I saw it.
Pros: Build quality
Cons: Accelation from dead stop
Advice: Don't waste your money on an A4 or 3 series.Drove the G35 and BMW 3 series. Both great cars but cannot touch the price of the TSX. Acura loads their cars with standard features that cost thousands of dollars with the competition. Everyone who rides in my car compliments it and I enjoy driving it more and more. SLightly less power than a V-6 but using manual mode with the AT takes care of that. The engine is a dream to rev or 3000 RPM.
Pros: The suspsension is just siff enough that you feel like your in a luxo/sports car.
Cons: The car begs for me to punch the gas however being front wheel drive it has that squirmy torque steer.
Advice: The automatic is fun however, if I could do it all over again I'd go maual.Wow what a surprize it was to find out how athletic this car is.
