Pros: Quiet at cruising speeds
Cons: Lack of fit and finish for price of carDespite paying substantially less than MSRP, I'm a little disappointed with the car considering its price tag. Some interior bits can have a little rattle to them when going over moderate bumps. Trunk liner is already sagging away from its weather stripping, and even the key has a screw in it that turns itself loose after 1000 miles and can vibrate when in the ignition. Considering list of standard features, I would expect push-button start to be standard on all models without having to pay $3800 more for the tech-package. Acura could also benefit from offering ala-cart options; such as NAV independent of the expensive tech-package. 18' wheels should also come standard as large arches on the 'uniquely' styled exterior swallow the base models 17'.
Pros: SHAWDI have owned three Honda EX's this is the ultimate Honda.
Pros: SH All wheel drive
Cons: TransmissionThe 2008 RL with the technology package is a greaat car. We only have two complaints about the RL. 1. The transmission is very jerking in its down shifting when going up hills. THey need to fix this problem with a 6 or 7 speed transmission. 2. The trunk fir this type of luxury automobile is way too small at 13 cubi feet. It should be at least 16 or 17 cubic feet. Acura needs to increase their fuel efficiency to better than 30 MPG average.
Pros: seat comfort
Cons: poor ride qualityA very comfortable car to drive. Excellent seats, perfect driving position, and peppy performance makes one smile. However, that smile will disappear when the road becomes less than smooth. The ride is simply too harsh over ruts and bumps, and to make matters worse, an annoying buzzing noise emanates from the upper console. Of course when I took it to the dealer, the noise disappeared. In spite of it's good points I will not buy another TSX because of it's harsh ride.
Pros: comfort/ handling
Cons: worrying about the trannyI've owned this car for 25,000 miles. (Bought it with 97,000) So far it's the best Honda product I've had. (It's the fifth one) There is a recall on the transmission in these cars and mine was replaced with a new one at 62,000 so far so good. It's great around town and on the highway. I get between 23 and 29 mpg on the required premium fuel even though it's the type S with 270 HP. Lots of power and great handling for this mid size sedan.
Pros: Great interior
Cons: Requires premium fuelI have owned my TSX for about 2 years now and like the car very much. Good looks, good comfort, great gas mileage, and performance that is quite adequate for me. Interior is very nicely designed, dash is good looking and very functional, however, there is unacceptable glare from the central display that shows radio setting, etc. My gas mileage has been great usually averaging about 25-27 mpg in combined city/freeway driving. I have exceeded 34 mpg on an all freeway road trip to California. Only downside is that manufacturer recommends premium, which I usually put in, though I see no difference with mid-grade, which I will use from time to time. Dealer service has been excellent. Overall, I would highly recommend consideration of the TSX. Overall a very nice combination of reasonable size, good comfort, excellent economy, nice features, and reliable service.
