2005 Acura RL
Pros: Navigation system
Cons: road noise
I have owned the RL since I purchased it as a certified used car. It is alot of fun to drive and is very comfortable, the only item I have a problem with is the road noise from the tires. I have Michelin A/S Sport tires and they seem to be noisy on alot of road surfaces.Pros: SHAWD
I have owned three Honda EX's this is the ultimate Honda.Great Automobile
Pros: SH All wheel drive
Cons: Transmission
The 2008 RL with the technology package is a greaat car. We only have two complaints about the RL. 1. The transmission is very jerking in its down shifting when going up hills. THey need to fix this problem with a 6 or 7 speed transmission. 2. The trunk fir this type of luxury automobile is way too small at 13 cubi feet. It should be at least 16 or 17 cubic feet. Acura needs to increase their fuel efficiency to better than 30 MPG average.Pros: Technology Package
Cons: Limited color choices
Advice: Great value in the luxury car catagory
Just purchased a 2010 RL 6 weeks ago and love the car. I was looking at a Jaguar XF - but I am completely sure I made the right choice. Smooth, quiet ride, excellent acceleration and perfect fit and finish.Pros: Bose sound system and driver comfort
Cons: Adult rear passengers are cramped unless the driver or front passenger are small
Advice: Spend more time than just a 1-mile test drive especially if you currently drive a smaller car. Once you get the feel for it, you will fall in love.
This car is actually everything I wanted from my Accord in vaguely they same vehicle. This car has more room, a better ride and a phenomenal sound system. Those were the only complaints on my Accord. I was weary after the initial test drive but after spending time in the vehicle, I wouldn't go back!Pros: Ergonomically, the car works!
Cons: Back seat could use a wee bit more legroom
Advice: In this car class, it comes down to what fits you best. The RL works for me with the Lexus GS 300 a close second.
Cross shopped this car with the Infiniti M35 and Lexus GS300. You can't go wrong with any of the three. For me, the RL's ergonomics (and nav system) was better then the GS300 and much, much better then the M35. Sitting in the RL, everything is within easy reach and the seats are very comfortable. The nav system is the easiest of the three to use. Voice recognition is a little quirky but it also has issues in a friend's 2006 Lexus LS430 (it's still new technology needing to get the kinks out). Ride is soft yet firm. MPG is a realistic 16 MPG city (stop and go) and 26 HWY.Pros: Keyless operation
Cons: voice recognition doesn't recognize voices very well
Advice: Buy it!
Techie features are lots of fun - adaptive cruise control, auto braking, GPS with real-time traffic, keyless operation. Very solid handling even under heavy rain.
