Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Comfort and stylish good looks along with a smooth and safe ride with minimum upkeep makes this a dream of a car. Handles like a quick sedan but has unequaled roominess in the trunk which allows me to pack it full of antiques and large canvases and my parent's wheelchairs. Wish the newer models had an equal amount of rear space. Forgot to mention - terrific gas mileage!
Pros: Navigation system/Bluetooth
Cons: Road noise, OnStar
Never owned a new 'foreign' auto before. Prefer to buy American, but the MDX has many good/great qualities and reliable performance. OnStar never worked properly and I understand Acrua no longer offers it.Great car for people who like technology
Pros: Voice controls
Cons: Road maps for navigation aren't as up to date as I'd like
Not only a great ride in all kinds of weather, it allows almost everything to be controlled by voice. You can make calls, adjust navigation or climit control and even change radio stations without taking your hands off the wheel. The fit and finish are very good and not a squeak or rattle exists in almost 90K miles.Pros: Engine performance, 7 seats
Cons: comfort
Advice: Do not buy this car! learn from my mistake.
A very bumpy car, very plain seats especial in rear that makes bumpy car to bumpier. Driving around the block it is Ok and even fun, long drive on the freeway 70mph or more - HELL. I am thinking to add seat cushion that probably will look ugly - what a shame for a brand like Acura Engine performance is very good. My advice - before you buy this car - test drive it on the freeway! Conclusion, For the most of us car it is not just a box, engine and wheels and that's I feel what I bought - big disappointment.Pros: Idiot proof navigation system, bluetooth capability, backup camera, engine, bose system
Cons: occasional niggling sound from the back
Advice: test drive this vehicle and seriously consider if looking for a good quality/value SUV
Very comfortable vehicle to be in. Great visibility but gives passengers feeling of relative isolation due to big interior and good sound insulation. Engine never lacks for power, very responsive and unhesitating even on steep grades which makes this SUV drive better than some sedans. I would have given better quality score except for an occasional high pitched niggling sound coming from probably a seatbelt assembly in the back. Feels very stable on the road, good night illumination from headlights/foglamps. Excellent list of standard safety features that include side and head curtain airbags in case of side impact or rollover. Appearance shows its age but look is classic IMHO and looks better than more recent SUV's on the road. Overall, a quality buy.Pros: Navigation System
Cons: Nothing
Advice: Buy The Touring Edition With Alot Of Options.
The MDX Is A 4-Door SUV That Is A Good SUV. The SUV Is Powered By Acura's 3.5.L.,255.-H.P. V6. Engine. The Engine Has Alot Of Horsepower, But Not As Much Then The 3.5.L. 300.-H.P. V6. That Is In The All-New Acura RL. The Engine Is Still Good. The Interior Has Good Comfort, And The Third-Row Seat Is Comforitable.Pros: Audio System, Bluetooth, Navigation. Power Seats, 265 HP V6
Cons: Plastic Interior Wood. No Auto Sunroof or passenger windows. Cheap looking door 'unlock' switch.
Advice: Great Model for people looking for smaller footprint and performance with luxury features.
Having driven a BMW 528 for the last three years, performance, handling and amenities were important in a SUV. I have driven many rental SUVs and had a basis already to compare. The MXD won hands down! The acceleration and braking is very good. No, you won't go through curving roads nearly as fast as in a performance car, but the MXD resists body roll very well. The power lumber suppport helps keep the driver in place in the seat. The voice command Nav and Bluetooth phone link is fun and convienent. The Bose system is a 8 out ot of 10 in audio quality. It sounds very good. Could offer more midrange control in setup. Could go on and on, but it would only positive feedback on the other published features.
