Honda is known for a lot of things, and among them is that for decades, this Japanese brand has been able to steadily and reliably design and make small cars that are a lot of fun to drive. The updated 2015 Honda Fit might be especially small, but it follows in the footsteps of 1990s hot hatches such as the Honda Civic. Even better, the latest Honda Fit can be performance tuned to make it even more fun. Autobytel’s T.J. Keon attended the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and the 2015 Honda Fit was one of the many attention-getters in the Honda booth. T.J. talked to Marc Sours from Honda Performance Development about why the Fit is such an attractive car to tuners. This is one of Marc’s specialties, since he’s responsible for making sure Honda street cars have all the qualities that make them solid track performers, and also making sure Honda race cars deliver the reliability that makes them so great on the street. A lot of the Honda Fit examples on the SEMA show floor were built by aftermarket tuning companies to highlight different approaches, but Honda did help with one designed for B-Spec entry-level racing. The 2015 Fit is a great cost-effective choice for amateur racing as well as everyday commuting.
