2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo: Video Road Test & Review

The Hyundai Veloster Turbo provides a performance option for subcompact buyers intrigued by the hatchback's unusual two plus one passenger door design as well as its somewhat futuristic styling.  The Hyundai Veloster Turbo is powered by a 1.6-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder that develops 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.  A six-speed manual transmission is provided free of charge, while a six-speed automatic is available as an option.  Fuel mileage for the turbo unit checks in at 26-mpg in stop and go driving and 38-mpg on the highway.

The 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo can seat up to five passengers and offers as much as 34.7 cubic feet of total cargo space with the rear row out of the picture.  From a safety perspective, the Veloster comes standard with side impact airbags, side curtain airbags, dual-stage forward airbags, and electronic stability control and traction control.  Hyundai also provides BlueLink, a telematics system that can automatically notify emergency personnel in the event of an accident, as well as track a stolen vehicle.

The Hyundai Veloster Turbo is offered in a single trim level that starts at an MSRP of $21,950.  The Veloster Turbo is provided with a list of equipment that includes a quicker steering system, 18-inch rims, fog lights, sporty exterior trim, leather seats, an upgraded stereo system over the base Veloster, Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning, power windows and door locks, and keyless entry.  It's also possible to outfit the Veloster Turbo with the Ultimate package, which includes a sunroof, a rearview camera, parking assistance, and a navigation system.
