The Honda Passport is a two-row SUV with plenty of room for people and cargo. It’s available in three trims, including the more rugged, off-road TrailSport, and has a responsive engine.
It also comes with standard all-wheel drive for managing more challenging conditions. This year, it received several updates that make it more appealing than ever. Here’s a look at the 10 best features of the 2024 Honda Passport.
The Honda Passport TrailSport is the most rugged version of this two-row SUV. It’s ideal for those who often venture off-the pavement, whether it’s driving down country roads or tackling dirt trails on the way to a weekend adventure.
This year, the TrailSport gets a few upgrades that make it even more capable. A new off-road suspension system makes the ride smoother when the terrain gets rough and increases articulation. It also comes with a set of all-terrain tires better suited to unpredictable off-road terrain. Standard all-season rubber floor mats help protect the Passport from muddy boots, and bright orange accents throughout the interior give it added visual appeal.

This all-new trim level sits at the top of the Passport lineup with unique features that make it stand out from the rest. Outside there are 20-inch black-painted alloy wheels and a blacked-out grille with black headlight trim, side trim, door handles, window trim, and fog light accents. There are also Black Edition badges on the grille and the tailgate.
Inside, the story is premium with ventilated front seats, heated rears seats, and eye-catching red accents on the perforated leather seating surfaces. That same red finds its way to the steering wheel as contrast stitching as well as on the seats and door panels. There’s red accent lighting throughout, and the Black Edition logo is embossed onto the front seats and floor mats.

The Honda Passport is available in a range of just three trims, all of which have standard all-wheel drive. Even the base EX-L is an all-wheel drive SUV so there’s no need to go up a trim or spend extra to get this added to the Passport.
All-wheel drive isn’t just for driving in the snow or dirt. Anytime road conditions are less than perfect, it helps ensure that traction is maintained. Even if it’s just rain, all-wheel drive does its job in the background to keep you in control. There are also drive modes of normal, snow, mud, and sand to further enhance traction in varying conditions.

Power for the Honda Passport comes from a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. This is paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission that delivers power smoothly and quietly, even under hard acceleration.
It’s easily up to the task of getting up to highway speeds without complaint and makes merging into heavy, high-speed traffic easier. On long drives, it makes for a relaxing ride so the trip is less taxing on the driver and passengers can doze off until the next stop.

The Honda Passport features Honda Sensing as a standard feature across the lineup. This safety suite includes a wide range of advanced driver assistance features to help prevent accidents and keep you and your loved ones safe.
Standard features include collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, forward collision warning, lane departure waring, lane keep assist, blind sport monitoring, cross-traffic monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and both front and rear parking sensors. In addition, there’s a rear seat reminder so that nothing is accidentally left behind.

One of the changes to this year’s Passport is a revised center console to make it more versatile. It’s larger than before, which means more room for the stuff you need to stow out of the way but have on hand just in case.
It’s also now a better spot for storing precious items you want out of sight with enough room to handle a full-size tablet. There’s also a revised storage tray ahead of the gear shifter. This lets you place two large smartphones side-by-side.

There’s plenty of room for cargo in the Honda Passport, whether it’s just groceries or all the supplies you need for a weekend off the grid. There’s 50.5 cubic feet behind the second row, so even with a full load of passengers, there’s ample room for stowing your belongings.
If there’s no one in the rear seats, then fold them down and there’s up to 100.8 cubic feet of cargo room. Supplies for a weekend project are easy to get home when there’s such a large cargo area. In addition, the Passport can tow up to 5,000 pounds, making it a truly versatile SUV for busy families.

While there’s good cargo room behind the rear seats and a solid tow rating, the Passport also has a bit of hidden storage beneath the cargo area floor. It’s the perfect place for tucking away items you might not want anyone to see, and it’s a great way to store small stuff that would otherwise be rolling around in the cargo area.
Since the underfloor storage area is plastic rather than carpeted, this also serves as the perfect spot for things that are muddy or wet. It’s also easy to wipe clean once you’re back home.

No matter which trim of the Passport you choose, it comes well equipped with standard features that are often only available as options on other SUVs. There are leather seating surfaces with a 10-way power driver’s seat that includes power lumbar. The front seats are also heated to take the chill out of cold winter mornings.
Move up to the top trim and there are ventilated front seats with heated outboard rear seats. Rear passengers also get their own controls for the heat and air conditioning on the top trim, and on all but the base trim there are rear sunshades.

Everyone has a smartphone, and no one wants to see that battery drop to zero, especially on a road trip. The Honda Passport has ample charging ports, so everyone can stay connected. Up front, there’s a USB-C charging port on the center console along with a wireless charging pad on all trim levels. In back, there are two additional USB-C charging ports.
The infotainment system has a standard 8-inch touchscreen with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with a 7-speaker audio system. The top trim gets an upgrade with a 10-speaker audio system and Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity.
