    2011 Kia Forte - EX (M6) Hatchback

This car is great in the city and on the highway. It is pretty quiet and holds up well to crosswinds (50 mph winds). Fuel economy could be a bit better. Do average 30 MPG for combined city/highway driving.

    2011 Chevrolet Equinox - 1LT FWD

The Equinox is actually surprisingly roomy in the back seats. We took our kids on a trip for the first time it was actually very pleasant ride and the handling is also better than most SUVs. The only issue we had was that the headrests for the back seats are not removable, we felt a bit strange to have a gap between the seat back and the convertible child seats we have (Britax) , but it works out just fine. Gas mileage is reasonably good, averaged 25MPG.
