2002 Volvo V70 - XC A SR AWD
Submitted on 3/16/2002 7:50:34 AM- Summary
Pros: Steering wheel moves when you get in and out of car. Wheel, seat, side view mirrors are linked to 1 custom setting.
Cons: learning the radio
Advice: If the vectoring doesn't bother you, check out the other wagons.
I have an 850 turbo wagon, fwd, and the 2002 XC shocked me in it's quality, performance, and handling. The 4wd overcomes the vectoring the fwd turbo exhibits when maximizing acceleration. I was surprised the XC only had 197 HP, versus the 222 HP on the turbo 850. Accelaration is smooth and it seemed as fast as the 850T. Quality is improved measureably, though the radio and temp controls take more than a couple mins to reorient.

2002 Volvo S40 - Base
Submitted on 3/7/2002 11:30:20 AM- Summary
Pros: 5 speed automatic 4cyl.
Cons: Bumps in the road are very noticable
Advice: Definately a Volvo. No pretense. Total Class.
I just got my S40 in Feb. 2002 and absolutely love it. I live in the city and it is a dream to park and handles the quick stops with ease. The 4cyl turbo saves fuel, yet does not sacrafice power on the freeway.

2002 Volvo S60 - 2.4 M FWD
Submitted on 3/1/2002 10:29:58 AM- Summary
Pros: Radio adjustments from the steering wheel
Cons: Drink holders awkward. No place to put loose change.
Advice: Look at several dealers. There is much price differential between dealers.
Overall very satisfied with the performance. Accelerates very nicely on highway, for passing etc. I would prefer the steering to be a little tighter, but I have been used to driving a much smaller car. Braking is good. Gas mileage seems pretty good. Very confortable.

2002 Volvo S80 - 2.9
Submitted on 1/18/2002 8:27:25 PM- Summary
Pros: I like the heated leather seats.
Cons: The terrible wood trim and the vinyl inside the car.
Advice: I recomment you do not get the 2.9, but get the T-6. That was my mistake.
I recently purchased a new Volvo 2.9 and I must say that I am not pleased at all. Volvo did not live up to be the luxury car that I wanted. However, the car makes almost no sounds at all. The volvo also rides very smoothly, but is very agitating with the low horse power. The car does not even go to 0-60 mph in 8 seconds and is very slow. Also the inside of the car is also not so pleasing. The wood trim is not good at all and the vinyl in the car is terrible. I hope the Volvo Corporation will read this and make the proper adjustments.

2002 Volvo S60 - 2.4T A SR FWD
Submitted on 12/7/2001 4:03:04 PM- Summary
Pros: The climate control that lowers fan motor when tempature is reached, but after 6 months it finally works.
Cons: All the problems I have had and still the sun roof rattles.
Advice: Stay clear of this one, now that Ford owns them, stay away.
After only 5000 miles on my S60 Volvo I am ready to give up. The car has been back to the dealer already 6 times to repair 5 different problems. I just got the vehicle back yesterday and already I have to take it back for another problem. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Pros: Space and AWD
Cons: Performance
Advice: If you don't really need the AWD, consider the T5 version.
Very comfortable, spacious (especially for our dog). AWD is useful for back country driving in winter. A car I expect to own for a while. Could use bigger engine and more horsepower.
