The most-powerful Volvo has begun rolling off the production line. Production of both the S60 and V60 Polestar models has begun at Volvo's Torslanda, Sweden plant. The company is planning to build a total of 750 S60 and V60 Polestar models for the world market. For the U.S., Volvo is planning to send 40 S60 and 80 V60 Polestars.

“It is an exciting process as there are many new and unique Polestar components that need to work seamlessly in the Volvo factory without interrupting the production of other models. It was a truly proud moment to see the first Polestar blue cars on the production line together with the XC/V70, S80 and other models. The cooperation with Volvo works really well and we are looking forward to an exciting future together,” said Henrik Fries, S/V60 Polestar Technical Project Manager..

The S60 and V60 Polestar come powered by a turbocharged 3.0L inline-six engine providing 345 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Paired with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, the models can reach 60 MPH in 4.7 seconds
