    2002 Volkswagen Jetta - GLS L (M5) Sedan

Pros: The interior is uncomparable to any other car. I got the black leather interior to boot! The Monsoon Sound System is awesome.

Cons: The leg room in the back seats (not a big issue for me though).

Advice: If you plan on buying a Jetta, get the 1.8T. It's worth it!

I bought a 2002 1.8T with Sports Luxury Package after test driving 3 versions of the Jetta, 2 Camry's, 1 Sonata (ugh...the worst of the group), Altima, Maxima, and a 3-Series BMW. It was a tight race between the Beamer and the Jetta, but I picked the latter for a combination of similar quality but much better price. The Jetta 1.8T w/sports luxury pkg really sticks to the road and offers great driveability. Wouldn't trade it for any other car in its range!

    2002 Volkswagen Jetta - GLS L (M5) Sedan

    Pros: Turbo engine

    Cons: Cupholder Placement

Advice: Test Drive the Turbo vs. Base Engine

I bought my Jetta in Aug 2002. It seems to be very well built and has the perfect mixture of practicallity, good looks, and fun. The turbo is a blast to drive. The 5 speed triptronic is very responsive. Step on the gas and it takes off. Have to watch out for tickets with that bright red color. Handling is great. Monsoon stereo is nice and the 17' Alloy wheels really make the car look sporty. The seats are firm and very comfortable. Cruises quietly at 80mph on the freeway with little road and wind noise. Back seat is small, but it is a small car. Gas mileage has been about 26/27 mix city and highway. The quality has been great so far. Highly recommend the Turbo engine, even with the premium fuel requirement. The performance is worth it. Volkswagen pays attention to detail and it shows.

    2002 Volkswagen Jetta - GLS L (M5) Sedan

Pros: 1.8 Turbo, Tiptronic Transmission, Monsoon Stereo, Overall Performance.

Cons: The location of the cup holder.

Advice: Drive all three models: GL, GLS, GLX.

Volkswagon has done a great job putting this car together. Their attention to the small details set's them apart from other manufacturers. This is my first Volkswagon and probably won't be my last.
