Pros: Poloarized Dimmer
Cons: defrost control and re circulation botton are always hard to find
Advice: Trust your experience of the ride. Talk with a mechanic about its reliability and what types of reapairs he's seen on it.I drove a 2003 Golf for a few months and then traded up to the 2004 VR6 GTI. This car is clearly the most exciting and responsive car I've owned. It brakes wonerfully, accelerates like a rocket, and rounds turns like it's on a rail. The controls and interior are top grade, and the little extras, like the huge sun roof, infared wiper detection, monsoon stereo, and cool polarized dimmer on rear view. What a beauty.
Pros: 5 speed standard transmission
Cons: defrost could be a little better
Advice: the early fall is the best time to get the best dealTraded in my 2003 Jetta , v-6 automatic for a 2004 GTI and I am extremely happy with my new car. The 5 speed standard is very fast from second to forth gear and I have no problem crusing on the N,J.Turnpike at 80 mph. When you need the power the Turbo kicks in and the cars get smaller and smaller in your rear view mirror !
Pros: overall quality feel
Cons: the fold-down rear seats are a nuisance; can't do it quickly.
Advice: go for it - you'll love it.We tested the VW GTI, the Mazda 3 5-door, the Honda Civic SI and the Ford SVT Focus. It came down to the GTI and the Mazda 3, and the GTI won on it's styling and higher hp. But you wouldn't go wrong with the Mazda either. The Focus & Civic can't compete. I was a little bit leery of VW because my brother bought a '91 Passat that was a lemon, but after reading the good GTI reviews we decided that they had improved their quality control over the last 3 years. So far (1 month) we're very happy with every aspect of this car. The turbo roars, it presses you back into the seat and leaves the other cars at the light. The quality of the interior rivals our Nissan Maxima. I've gotten a few dirty looks from my wife when young girls have waved at the car as we passed by. It's a hot item, and I highly recommend it... so far.
Pros: can not pinpoint one yet so I will say the entire car!
Advice: when you test drive. Hold on!The first time that I looked at the car, I wanted it. Sleek body lines, great Silverline Grey color and those 17' alloy wheels! That is only on the outside. When it took it for a test drive, I thought I was in an airplane. Smooth ride and great acceleration. 0-60 in under 8 secs? Its a great car and I love my new rocket on wheels!
Cons: Nothing. It doesn't clean itself.
Advice: If you like VWsSmooth, quiet ride. Awesome acceleration! Smooth acceleration. Excellent cockpit controls.
