    2005 Volkswagen Golf - (M5) 2dr

Pros: The overall look of the car

    Cons: power

Advice: Change the wheels, hubcaps are not cool

I bought the golf brand spanking new and i have had it for about 3 months now. I put 2500 miles on it and the car runs like a dream. Theres tons of room and has space for 5 people. The only downside is there is no power behind it, but you save on gas. Also i puit rims, tints, and navi and it makes the car look some much better.

    2002 Volkswagen Golf - 2.0L (M5) 2dr

    Pros: blue dashboard

Cons: seats- they are extremely uncomfortable, i realize this is an economy car but they are terrible.

Advice: i don't know- maybe i just got a bad one

I bought my Golf GL brand new in 2002. Perhaps i was spoiled because my previous car was a '98 A4. I have had tremendous luck with VWs in the past, however, this car has failed to live up to expectations. I purchased the car thinking that it would get exceptional gas mileage but it performs only slightly better than average and it is not worth being uncomfortable for. Worst of all, I had to make several repairs on a 2002 vehicle with 65k miles for really strange repairs (replace the emergency brake?, new ignition coil?, spark plug wires, and my personal favorite- a rotted tire rod). I know that people swear by these cars, and i was drinking the kool-aid for a while too. I am seriously considering getting rid of it and picking up a civic or something.

    2005 Volkswagen Golf - GLS TDI (M5) 4dr

Pros: diesel economy - turbo punch

Cons: that I didn't drive it sooner.

Advice: buy it while they last. New model set to have a lot more plasticy chrome.

Despite reading reviews to the contrary, I just didn't believe that this car would be possible. How could you get hybrid-esqe 50 mpg and handling, acceleration, comfort and utilty - in a diesel? They did it. Believe it. Buy a $900 kit and this thing will run on used oil from the fryer at your local Burger King - like a Boxter. Haven't seen any smoke out of the exhaust yet - even at hi revs. Yes, I like it.

    2002 Volkswagen Golf - GLS TDI (M5) 4dr

Pros: overall design of the car

Cons: diesel stink, electrical problems, $60 oil changes

Advice: buy - the car is above average in fun and practicality

A pleasure to drive: road holding, power at low rpm, heated seats, beuty of the instrument pannel, almost 50 mpg, excellent sound system, superb cruis control. But start it in winter with a window down, and it smells and sounds like a school bus. First month after expiration of warranty, check engine lite came on for no reason except to pay the dealership, radio stopped working, a headlite went off, air conditioner blows warm air. Service is expensive.

    2005 Volkswagen Golf - GLS TDI (M5) 4dr

    Pros: Fuel economy

Cons: The middle armrest gets in the way of shifting when it is down; best suited for the highway

Advice: Buy one in a color you like because this automobile will last a very long time

I have purchased the car of my dreams. I have wanted a Rabbit/Golf diesel since I first saw one in 1976. The handling, performance, and economy are everything I thought they would be. The TDI-PD is the perfect balance of performance and economy. This car is well-planted on both the twisty backroads and on the superslab. It is very quiet and comfortable at highway speeds; the seats are well suited for long rides. Even the back seat can accomodate three pre-teens in comfort. This car is a masterpiece of automotive engineering.

    2005 Volkswagen Golf - GLS TDI (M5) 4dr

    Pros: Too many to mention

Cons: No auto-off on rear window defrost (I'll get over it)

Advice: Get the ESP for inclimate weather handling. Don't pay the sticker price.

Three letters describe this car (FUN). 44 MPG with my daily driving makes this car very affordable to drive even with slightly higher diesel prices. Loaded with many extra standard features, this a great daily commute car. Great 8 speaker stereo system. Very quiet ride also. The Eletronic Stabilization Program (ESP) is also a great addition for this car in bad weather. ESP keeps the car true to the road with little to worry about except the other driver. Bargain for your best deal. I paid $18,812.00. With options, total price should have been $20,585.00.

    2005 Volkswagen Golf - GLS TDI (M5) 4dr

Pros: Being able to use as a automatic or manual transmission

    Cons: Too low to ground

    Advice: Worth the price

A slow start moves quickly to a 'get up and go' mode. Handles great. I am getting 42 miles per gallon mixed driving.
