    2003 Ford Focus - LX (200A) Sedan

    Pros: Simple

    Cons: Considering the cost

Advice: Ignor the reviews from people who don't own one.

I bought this car for my son who just started college. As I dove it around I decided to keep it for my self and let him have my old Nissan Sentra. The car is quite comfortable for a small car and it has been trouble free. I drive about 10,000 miles a year total. We also have a larger car (minivan) but I prefer to drive the Focus. Most of our driving is around town. Happy motoring

2003 Ford Focus - SE Zetec Comfort (320A) Sedan

    Pros: A very short lease

    Cons: Road noise

    Advice: Don't waste your money

Handles decent, no power when A/C is on. Gas mileage is horrible. Road noise is extremely annoying. Takes a week to stop the car.

    2003 Volkswagen Jetta - GLI (M6) Sedan

    Pros: Performance

    Cons: Missing the GLX amenities

Advice: Excellent Car, and fun to drive.

This is a Tornado Red Jetta GLi with black leather interior, and sunroof. Tested this vehicle and was surprised with the overall performance. The engine/Transmission configuration is great. Only draw back, I replaced my 2002 Jetta GLX for a GLi, and was used to all the little features it had. The GLi does not have Power Seats, Self Dimming Rear View Mirror, and does not Automatic Climate Control. But, the seats sportier and very firm. The last VW car I drove that had the 'sport' feel was a 1992 VW GTi.

    2003 Kia Rio - (M5) Sedan

    Pros: chap price

Cons: the passengers side din't have an armrest

Advice: good cheap car if your not an enthousast or have 13 kids it's a good car

My cousin bought a hyundia accent 2002 which is the exact same as the kia rio 2003, except for slight appearances. It is only about 10,000 bucks. It drives fine, the cars do pass him up on the big hills becuase the 4 cylnder 1.6 liter engine just can't do it. BUt if comparing this to a Honda civicDX its practicly the same. THe DX is only a 4 cylnder 1.7 liter. If you are the cool kid at highschool and you have to drive a truck or a honda then go away but if your debating weather you want to buy a 30,000 Suv, or a 10,000 car, 10,000 entertainment system, and pay of a few debts this car is perfect. Or if your just a kid like me its a reachable car. Don't uy a used car! It may seem like it is a lot cheaper but with all the new parts it certinly isn't. My dad bought my sister a 1988 honda prelude si2.0 with 4 wheel steering, not drive, but steering. he has spent about 10,000 on repairs and a new paint job. The cars value through a private party is only 2,200. And now we need a new mufler. so trust me and buy this car, it works, remember, a car is a tool not a toy.

    2003 Mazda Protege5 - (M5)

    Pros: Handling

    Cons: Buzzy engine

Advice: Watch for price and discounts but buy it.

If you want one of the best handling small cars on the market, the Protege 5 is your car. Its somewhat boomy engine and moderate power is more than made up for in handling, room and comfort. It just plain feels connected and handles. Mazda knows handling and comfort and Fun.

    2003 Subaru Outback - H6-3.0 L.L. Bean Edition (A4) Wagon

    Pros: All Wheel Drive

    Cons: Emergency brake recall.

Advice: Test drive one in the snow. You'll be hooked.

The H6-3.0 engine is responsive and the vehicle handles extremely well in the snow. My other car is a 3 year old Mercedes E320 and I find myself gravitating to the Subaru. The seats are heated, comfortable, excellent lumbar support and certainly as good as my Benz. The upgraded indash CD system is very good. (Not as good as the Benz, but still very good,) The finish of the Subaru is outstanding. It is a well built and solid vehicle. It rides exceptionally well for a sports wagen.
