Pros: comfortable seats
Cons: gas mileage and blind spots
Advice: if you're buying the diesle for gas mileage - DON'T - mileage stinksI went with the diesle engine thinking i would be getting good gas mileage. i'm barely getting 30 mpg - a far cry from 42-49 mpg that is quoted. the car is very comfortable with plenty of head room, however there is not much trunk space.
Cons: flimsy floormats
Advice: do research before negotiating a priceThe Jetta is my first new car purchase, and I love it. It handles great, and the turbo is fantastic. I agree that the legroom in the back leaves much to be desired. I've also had some strange problems. The doors would rattle when I drove, and I had to take it in for service. Two other Jetta owners complained of the same problem. Also, the sunroof switch is crazed. On some days, it doesn't respond to whatever setting I specify. One more thing, the cd changer is fickle. The tracks skip, and I get various errors. I did purchase the cd changer from the dealer, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Weighing the pros and cons, I'm still happy with the purchase.
Pros: Dash board and speed.
Advice: Test it out, bargain. buy it, don't do the lease.I purchased my 1.8 about a week ago and love it. Quiet and great pickup. I've owned several cars but this one is the best by far. I like the ride and the speed.
Pros: The 1.8T engine
Cons: lack of trip computer.
Advice: Buy it you'll love it.Great fun to drive. Handling and breaks feel very good. Feels very nimble. Fit and finish are great. Lots of standard features and option list completes the car very nicely.
Pros: VR62004v Lot's of motor
Cons: Rear leg room and headroom is inaducate (too small)
Advice: negociate priceHas balls. New 200 hp 4 valves per cylindar. Tiptronic allows for both luxury and sporty driving.
Pros: Rain Sensing Wipers
Cons: no indash 6 disc changer
Advice: If you want the combinationg of performance and luxry get it fully loadedI've always wanted this car growing up and thorugh my Teenage years. Finally after I needed to trade in my 93 Passat wagon I didn't even look at other cars. I had the GTI VR6 in mind from the start. I did look at other cars online but already knew my choice. The minute I got in the car for a test drive it fit like a glove. I can't say that about many cars I've been in or test driven. also this Car has the Punch to keep up when you want it. It feels like the car was meant for driving. It just wants to go. I got it Fully loaded. 17' wheels and all. The wheels make the car for sure, as well and improve the Handleing. There is nothing but good things I have to say about this car. It is also FUN to Drive.
Pros: Look and Reliable
