Advice: If you want the combinationg of performance and luxry get it fully loadedI've always wanted this car growing up and thorugh my Teenage years. Finally after I needed to trade in my 93 Passat wagon I didn't even look at other cars. I had the GTI VR6 in mind from the start. I did look at other cars online but already knew my choice. The minute I got in the car for a test drive it fit like a glove. I can't say that about many cars I've been in or test driven. also this Car has the Punch to keep up when you want it. It feels like the car was meant for driving. It just wants to go. I got it Fully loaded. 17' wheels and all. The wheels make the car for sure, as well and improve the Handleing. There is nothing but good things I have to say about this car. It is also FUN to Drive.

Advice: Great CarHad a 1986 Volkswagen Golf with 200,000mi on it and now 1994 with 140,000 which runs like new and just bought a 2002 Jetta. With past experences with volkswagens,that why I purchased another one.

Advice: take a test drive in the the german-built diesel wagon, you will be suprisedSo far my wagon tdi has been superb in many ways...mileage, driving fun, fit and finish, and lots of cargo room. Also rear curtain airbags give extra secure feeling(kids in back). Tdi wagons as far as i know are only built in germany, so maybe quality concerns only apply to mexican-built VW's.

Advice: Test drive one with a Turbo, you will be hooked. Front area is roomier than you would think.When I decided to trade down from a Ford Explorer to a smaller SUV my husband talked me into trying the GTI. After test driving it, plus the price for all the extra and std options, it was well worth the value. The 1.8 turbo engages early on giving the car a powerful feel. Living in Atl traffic going from 0 to 70 quickly is important. The 4 wheel disc eliminates the front dive in heavy braking. Visibility is good, handling crisp and exciting-sure footed. Nighttime instruments are beautiful. Although considered a subcompact the front passenger seat has more leg room than the Explorer. GTI's are to be driven. They are not just for the young but the more mature. This car brings the excitment of the road to the driver and passenger, yet still leaves the comfortable, roomy spacious front seating area. Rear seating is not too bad, but is cramped. Extra storage can be made by folding down the rear seats. With the sunroof open, windows down, buffing is minimal. Well designed, very pleasant. Would like to see additional after market options available to help jazz it up from being so plain. My second choice would be to purchase a Turbo Beetle-had we not gone with the GTI.
