    2004 Volkswagen New Beetle - GLS T (M5) Hatchback

    Pros: Beautiful

Cons: engine light keeps coming on and the gas peddle sticks on me.

Advice: Be prepared to have it in the garage more than you have it.

We bought our bettle about two months ago and it has been in the shop four times. They have had it a month and I have had it a month. The engine light keeps coming on and I am in great need of knowing if anyone has had a problem with the GAS PEDDLE STICKING. Mine has four times and it scares me to death, but they say there is no reason that it should do that because there is nothing there to make it stick. I am really afraid to drive it. It only has a little over 4000 miles on it. Pleas give some feed back on the gas peddle if anyone has had this problem.

    2002 Volkswagen New Beetle - GLX (M5)

    Pros: Overall appearance

Cons: Trunk lid that only opens slightly so one can barely put anything in it.

    Advice: Stay away !

Without a doubt the worst and most troublesome car I have ever owned. After having the 2000 Hardtop could not wait for the Convertible (2004). Numerous problems, which dealerships (now on #3) can never fix. Among them, electrical, windows never working properly, fabric on interior roof falling apart. Car has only 6,000 miles on it and has been in for service 16 times.VW Corporate Customer Service must be the worst in the automotive industry - better one should suffer than look to them for help. I am desparately trying to get out of the lease so I can do what I should have done in the first place - buy the T-Bird before they are gone. Yes, a Ford, but nothing can be worse than this VW. Cute though, I must say.

2003 Volkswagen New Beetle - GLS (M5) Convertible

    Pros: the color

    Cons: everything else

Advice: Save your money and get something else

Overall the car it cute, but it is not worth the money at all. I've only had my car for 6 months with only 25,000 miles and I've had several problems. Everything and anything had broken (brake light system, trunk pop, air bags and roll bars, seat warmer, etc) I would never recommend anyone to buy this car. After only six months- I am trading it in.

2005 Volkswagen New Beetle - GLS (M5) Convertible No Package

Pros: Operation of the semi-automatic of the top is excellent. Very easy and a quick operation.

    Cons: Nothing yet.

Advice: You need the Front End cover if excessive highway driving. Road debris takes a heavy toll on the hood and fenders. I have one on now.

Very satisfied with performance. Overall build quality is excellent so far. Ride has a very stable feel and comfortable. I've owned this for 4 months and 5,000 miles and have not had to return to the dealer for other than the first oil change. The back seat is fine for 2 kids. Trunk space is limited, but who would expect anything different. Gas mileage is fine, but not the best considering the size. I average 24 MPG so far. Driving in bad weather was fine during the March snow storms. The front wheel drive provided a pretty good grip on the snow and slippery roads. Dash board controls are easy to figure out, but reading the owners manual thoroughly is essential. I'm really enjoying it so far.

2005 Volkswagen New Beetle - GL (M5) Hatchback

    Pros: LOOK OF CAR

Cons: OPENING TRUNK AND DIFFICULTY WITH TOP

Advice: BESIDES BEING CUTE ALOT OF FLAWS

PURCHASED 2005 BEETLE CONVERTIBLE 2 MNTHS AGO. TOP IS HORRIBLE. DOES NOT CLOSE EASILY. I WAS LOOKING SO FORWARD TO OWNING THIS CAR SINCE IT FIRST CAME OUT NOW NOT REALLY THRILLED EXCEPT FOR LOOKS OF CAR. OWNED TO PREVIOUS JETTA'S WHICH I THINK WERE MADE MUCH BETTER. ALSO HATE THE TRUNK YOU HAVE TO DIG YOUR FINGERS UNDERNEATH TO LIFT UP. VISIBILITY OUT BACK IS BAD TOO. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED
