    2007 Volkswagen New Beetle - 2.5 (M5) Hatchback

Pros: The cruise control, it is simple, well placed and responsive

    Cons: The gas mileage

Advice: do not have high expectations of the fuel economy.

Drives and handles well. Lots of glass. requires window tint so air conditioner can keep up in US gulf coast summers. well constructed vehicle. very functional. driver controls are simple and user friendly. sound system is adequate but not exceptional. interior appears to be of quality materials. vehicle is easy to get into and out of. The air conditioner compressor had to be replaced at 300 miles. Service dept said almost all 07 beetle a/c's have been bad. gas mileage to date is poor, less than 25 mpg. power windows seem to be under a load when closing. Braking is good. Emergency brake lever is not easily accessed.

    Advice: BUY IT

I have a 05 Tahoe and bought this bug used.....OMgosh, it is so much fun, myself and my hubby and daughter almost come to fights when we want to take the bug...everyone wants to drive it..it is so much fun, and this one has 74K miles on it, but it was a lease return and was taken very good care of...It catches the eye as much as my $48 thousand dollar Tahoe, and is so good on gas.. You wont be disappointed in this veh

    2002 Volkswagen New Beetle - GL (M5)

Pros: The look...it is adorable....like a new puppy

Cons: The fact that you can't take it to your local machanic and have it fixed.....puppies pee on the floor.....

Advice: Become or marry a doctor or a lawyer first.

This is a very cute car but it is a BIG piece. The thing has some many problems and you have to make an appointment with the dealer to get it fixed because no one can work on it. No one else can fix the stupid thing. I am selling it and getting a Toyota Carmy LE ASAP! But hey if are a millioniar and love the look go for it.

2005 Volkswagen New Beetle - GLS TDI (M5) Hatchback

    Pros: Fuel Economy

    Cons: In the shop frequently

Advice: Buy toyota do not buy a VW

Have extreme difficulty backing up due to the position of the rear side walls, can't see around them. Also have had it in the shop twice now for starter ploblems. It stranded me in town, all electrical things worked but would not turn over, it has 30,000 miles on it and this has happened two times. The starter wire that goes to sylanoid the first time and this time the starter had to be replaced but they only repaired the damaged starter wire this time. Also had to have the radio replaced and rear speaker replaced, and the hatch release doesn't work half the time.

2003 Volkswagen New Beetle - GL (M5) Convertible

Pros: Leather, heated seats in the winter plus good gas mileage

Cons: Blind spots and very low clearance

Advice: Make sure you're OK with a car that seats two (or one person and one dog :)

I've owned my bug for a year now and have been very happy with it for the most part. There is no compromising the fact that this is a very small car (forget about backseat passengers for anything longer than a trip to Starbucks), but it has a surprising amount of room for two people. The low clearance is something I'm still getting used to. I've found the dash display to be well appointed and love the blue and red lighting at night; however, a cd player should be standard equipment in my opinion and this car did not come with one. I've had zero problems other than we just replaced the battery last month. This little car zips around town very nicely and I've taken it on several road trips from Colorado to Missouri. After the first trip, I was surprised at how comfortable the car is, even after driving several hours. My main complaint is there are several blind spots. Even with the top down I feel compelled to raise myself up in the seat as high as I can to see over the back. If you're looking for a fun, small car, you'll enjoy having a bug. The gas mileage is pretty good, too, about 28-30 mpg.

    Cons: see review!

    Advice: don't buy it

always in the shop, gas mileage is horrible, should come with a windstop, slow merging on the freeway
