Pros: horse power & looks
Cons: tilt steering
Advice: if you want eye candy this is the truckits faster than most v8 trucks trust me i tested it .
Pros: Cab is very roomy
Cons: a lot of road noise at highway speeds
Advice: compared to other trucks it is ahead of the gameTest drove very well
Pros: Gas milage and style
Cons: The colors to pick from.
Advice: Buy it you won't go wrong2006 Tacoma PreRunner has got to be the best of it's class. not only dose it look good but it feels and handles as good as it looks. If your looking fo a V6 with performance that wont cut a hole in your pocket for gas, get the Toyota Double cab PreRunner.
Advice: This is a great overall 4X4 family truckThis is the first Toyota I have ever owned. My two previous trucks were a 90 and 00 ranger. I feel that the Toyota is superior in many areas such as performance, looks and mechanical quality. However, I am dissapointed in the 'creature comforts' that accompany the tacoma. For exmaple, the cab is smaller and the seats are not as comnfortable as Ford. In addition, the console has an ancient feel/appearance. The radio also feels/sounds cheap. However, with both of my previous rangers having constant costly premature repairs, I decided to sacrafice creature comforts for mechanical quality. That is the reason I thougt I would give Toyota a chance. I feel that Ford had thier chance and the lost twice. I will never buy an american car again.
Pros: Gets decent gas mileage for a 6 cyl.
Cons: Very noisy cab at highway speeds.
Advice: Run as fast as you can in the other direction. This truck costs too much to have so many problems. This is my first (and last) Toyota. The brakes are weak, the rear doors let in wind noise at speeds over 40 mph, the motor idles very fast (dealer says this is normal, but it seems very hard on the transmission when you go into drive) and the paint seems to be very thin as it chips easily.
Pros: ergonomically designed interior
Advice: Second to none! Toyota is the best purchase for the money in quality, and refinementThis 2006 tacoma crew cab handles extremely well on the road. I was very impressed with its capabilities, it handles very smooth, and corners extremely well for a truck, no evident rolling or leaning, in the corners, very impressive. Ample power in the v-6, and runs very smooth, as well as the 5-speed automatic transmission, which really impressed me. Felt like a bmw, or the like in its shifting capabilities. I have owned previous toyotas, and find it to be consistently well made, exceptional quality, that never lets you down. Hats off to toyota once again. Many thanks for your superb design, and engineering accomplishments, its not hard to understand why toyota is most assuredly in a class all of its own. Toyota Owner for Life!
Pros: Smart use of cargo space (large rear seat)
Cons: Cheap looking interior
Advice: Look carefully at the Frontier and RidgelineVery solid truck - a dream to drive. Very comfortable, good power and looks great. A bit iffy on the interior finishings. If you opt not to get the TRD package, the seats seem a bit cheap. There's not a lot of bells and whistles, but if you like a truck for what a truck should be - practicality, this fits the bill.
