Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Cons: seats. i'm 6'2' they fit a smaller person better.
Advice: be prepared for sticker shock!Fast and good looking.
Pros: cd player
Cons: wish it had tinted driver and passenger windows
Advice: one of the best in its class,i think you will like the tacoma as much as i doThe new 2006 toyota tacoma has great power, ride is like your driving a sports car,has one of the best sound systems i have ever heard in a stock system, all the controls are easy to use and are in good locations for the driver, over all i would buy this truck again.
Pros: The whole package! Just love doing a job on the big Dodge (430HP) trucks! The looks you get at the next light are great.
Cons: Could use about 30 more HP and that's about it.
Advice: If you get the TRD Sport you will need to put on new rubber as rear end will smoke the junk tires at every light@ 6800 miles and not one problem. Although, I did put on a set of AT tires that do a better job on and off the road than the OEM junk that came on the vehicle. Just some light off road so not sure how it will do in the heavy stuff?
Pros: comfortable ride
Cons: 4x4 open differential operation
Advice: Undestand how 4x4 works5k miles and overall not bad BUT, got the 4x4 stuck in the snow which I thought was odd and THEN read about open differential 4x4 set up. If your doing serious off road or very slippery (ICE) conditions, pay attention to the drawbacks versus locking differential. Wished I had known before I bought. Also, doors require a little force to shut properly. Local dealer tells me that because the truck is pretty air tight. Not sure if iA buy that one. Speedometer reading faster than I'm actually going. Local dealer says it's off 3 mph and within tolerance. I believe it to be off more like somewhere between 8 - 10 mph.
Cons: sun visor design, how high you sit up in the cab, if the truck were to roll over the occupants would be crushed
Advice: use the gear shifter on automatics, use the sun visor and think about it an inch or two lower- will you be able to see out it an inch or two lower because in a few months it will drop down a littleIt's a good vehicle overall. However, it does have a few problems that I consider fairly important. First is the gear shifter(automatic) is easy to knock down a gear. If you don't watch out you can hit the shifter, with your hand or anything, and drop the gears from 5th to 4th gear. If you are going down the highway that can be bad. Second, the sun visors drop down in your field of view after awhile. I've had them replaced 5 times and adjusted several other times. You sit so high in the cab that the when the visors drop down you can only see about 10 ft in front of the vehicle. I all most hit a sign because I didn't see it. Not good.
Cons: Lack of space
Advice: Make sure your not going to need much roomThis vehicle is great I’ve owned it for a year & half -No problems. I get great gas mileage of course it’s a 4 cylinder 4X4. Great clearance, have never bottomed out. These vehicles are very flexible off road. Because it’s a single cab there is little leg room for passengers and no room at all for anything else I would recommend this particular model for any single folks.
Pros: The 4-Door cab and Long bed
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Advice: Get Yourself One!I see this review is for the 2005 model. Mine is a 2006. Hope that's ok. I like this truck a lot. It has enough power to get you up to speed fast on the Interstate. Mine is the 4.0 engine. Don't think you could find a better truck over all.
