    2002 Toyota Tacoma - 4x2 Double-Cab

Pros: The ride height gives you the ability to view traffic easily.

Cons: A/C is marginal and the sound system needs help.

Advice: Test A/C, test sound system

I primarily use the vehicle as a second family vehicle so the double cab comes in handy. I do not use it as a work truck so when reading this review please keep that in mind. The fit and finish of this vehicle is beyond reproach but there are a few things to pay attention to if you are thinking about purchasing this vehicle. It rides like a truck because it is a truck, but more emphasis could have gone into a less choppy ride. The ride of Toyota's Highlander would have been a better fit for me. The A/C works well when the weather is somewhat mild but when it gets a bit steamy the A/C doesn't cool the cab quickly and struggles to do so unless on high. The sound system is also marginal, fine for radio but nothing else. The tones are not crisp. The clock is in a horrible place, the design engineer must have had a few drinks before deciding where to put it. Road and wind noise can be heavy at highway speeds. The last thing to be aware of is water. When washing the vehicle or in a rain storm water doesn't actually enter the cabin but pretty darn close. It gets in above and below the seals nearest the exterior floorboard and above the window. Imagine wiping down the interior when opening the door, it's hard to explain because it doesn't actually get in on the seats or floor etc. but the exposed area near it. Took it Toyota and they said this is normal. That was a bit scary. The stuff I like? Totes kids and other stuff like it is intended to do. Weekend work truck. It sits up high which is great in traffic. The interior has that firm/comfortable feel. Would I buy it again knowing what I know now? I trust Toyota so the answer is probably 'yes', but the reputation they earned over the years for putting out a 'great' product is being questioned by a longtime loyal customer like me. I would have taken a better look at Chevy's S-10 Crew Cab and the Nissan Frontier Crew Cab.

    2002 Toyota Tacoma - (M5) 4x4 Xtracab

    Pros: The reliability and quality.

Cons: What's with the placement of the clock?

Advice: Buy it. I'm not wealthy so I wasn't sure spending the extra money on the Toyota was the right thing to do...but it WAS! It's worth it. Get, at least, the x-tra cab.

I love it! I KNEW Toyota wouldn't let me down. It feels so solid...it seems as if it's begging me to test it! I'm sure it's gonna last at least as long as my previous Toyota: 11 years!

    2002 Toyota Tacoma - 4x4 Double-Cab

    Pros: Toyota Quality

Cons: Driver seat does not have enough adjustments.

Advice: BUY! You can't beat the reliability, price, performance and resale value!

I test drove this truck and within 1000 yards of the dealer, knew I'd buy it. I've tried to get into American trucks (Chevy and Ford) but cannot beat the Toyota. Nice ride, super quiet, a lot of power, and the feel of quality!

    2002 Toyota Tacoma - Base (M5) 4x2 Xtracab

Pros: I'm glad it has a warranty

    Cons: The service department

    Advice: Buy a Honda

I bought a new tacoma 2 weeks ago and the check engine light just came on, and the engine runs rough. All of the plastic wiring duct has been taped, and the tape is coming off all over the engine. I don't think the dealer really cares. I drove a Honda for nine years and toyota's quality isn't even close.

    2002 Toyota Tacoma - (M5) 4x4 Xtracab

Pros: Smooth Ride for a Truck

    Cons: Little expensive

    Advice: Tocoma doesn't lose it's value...Trust me I know!

I owned a 2001 Toyota Tacoma for about a year, before I rolled it. But thanx to the tough structure of the truck, the cab stayed in tact (Hense why I'm still here writing this). Needless to say...the truck was totalled but the value of the tacoma did not depreciate that much, so I was able to put a pretty sizeable down payment on a 2002 model. Thanx Toyota!!!

    2002 Toyota Tacoma - 4x2 Double-Cab

Pros: Toyota build quality, reliability, ruggedness, and dependability

Cons: My garage can't fit six more of these, one for every day of the week.

Advice: Toyota quality and reliablity won't let you down like the Junk made by Ford/Chevy/Dodge

Toyota Tacoma is The MOST Reliable truck money can buy! The legendary Toyota quality and reliability is Worth the price. You can see and feel the high quality in the Tacoma. It won't leave you at the side of the road like Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. Don't waste your hard-earned money on any of that Junk. In a couple years any Ford/Chevy/Dodge will be sitting on jackstands on your front lawn, broken down with mechanical problems and recalls. Save yourself the trouble, get yourself a Toyota. You'll be glad you did.

    2002 Toyota Tacoma - (M5) 4x4 Regular Cab

    Pros: 4WD and a manual 5 speed

Cons: Engine Noise at high speeds 75 - 100mph

Advice: Get the extended cab so you'll have some room to throw your stuff, so it doesn't go flying all over when you go off road

Great Truck. I was pleasantly surprise with the power of this 4 banger
