    2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara - EX (A4) 4x4

    Pros: Classy interior look

Cons: gas mileage. Had a Honda Civic - need I say more.

Advice: BUY IT YOU'LL LOVE IT.

Test drove Jeep Liberty, Rav 4. Didn't even try CRV, didn't like the looks of it. I love the Grand Vitara. Very smooth ride and in love with the interior.

    2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara - LX (M5) 4x4

Pros: looks, off-road strengths, V6 passing, and compact size is easy to park

Cons: rear leg room, I wish they added six inches.

Advice: 2004&2005 models are better, many weak reviews were of earlier models. This car will restore joy of the road again.

I test drived a jeep liberty sport, subaru impreza, and pontiac vibe. I gave up on the vibe, as in the winter the heater didn't heat the car up, and acceleration @120hp AWD was wimpy. The impreza with 170hp great horse power but too low to the ground and AWD not 4WD. The jeep liberty, of comparable price 'sport' model, had low-end look and feel, it was the cheap jeep. Grand Vitara, classy interior with great standard stuff. It had V6, 4WD, real truck/tank-like built & frame, keyless entry (wife loves), and nice looks. Smooth quiet ride and has neato power thrust button for automatics (puts 'sport' back in SUV). Compact body was important as I street park in a big city often. The off-road capabilities really useful for unplowed streets and deep pot holes (city approved). There is no other compact SUV with same off-road, V6, 4WD, comfort and style for the price. This vehicle is in a unique class with no competitors for the price, real off-road, V6, and 4WD. I fell in love with driving again (last car which had this much fun was my 1979 chev. malibu so its been a while). I am 5'11'' and thought I might find it's width tight, yet more I drive it, more I like it. It's really is a great ride. My wife whips around in this car, so that tells you a lot about its safe built-like a tank feel and ride, since she never did that with 4-cylinders.

    2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara - EX (A4) 4x4

Pros: Buid Quality, like a Benz

    Cons: Space in rear

Advice: Try one for yourself, don't believe the reviews- just can't fathom why its so under rated...

All the reviews said I should hate this vehicle but why did I like it so much when I test drove it? Are all the reviews wrong or is it just me. Tested a few others but this was nicest. I know I am not suppose to like it but I love it. It just is put together so well, like a tank and it handles well. It has everything standard too.

    2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara - EX (A4) 4x4

    Pros: Real 4wd Capabilitt

    Cons: wheel on back

Advice: Go get one you will not regret it.

Totally agree with review. We were looking for a medium 4wd and had tested ALL the competition, Honda CRV, Rav4, Ford Escape, Nissan X Trail, Hyundai Toucan and a few others. We were rather underwhelmed by them all and had narrowed our choice to Rav 4 or CRV but we (my wife and myself ) weren't conviced by either really, The Rav 4 was a great drive but lacked serious off road ability and teh CRV was very practical and roomy biut also seriously lacked 4WD cred. Then we decided to stop at a suzuki dealer and dissmissevely looked at a Grand Vitara. The dealer wasn't too push and offderd a good price and invited us for a test drive. To be polite we obliged but once in the I coul;dn't here the negine (v6) and was blown away by the cabin quality and solid feel of it all. On the road it was suburb, really falt through corners, silky smoothm quiet I didn't know the engine was on and it was very very quick. I glanced the hi low 4wd gears shift and knew this was the real deal, not some softroader to be sneered at. Then when we stopped the dealer pointed out the sump guard and said the steel was galvanised ( a la Landrover) We were totally blown away, honestly, I am not Suzuki dealer in disguise but a genuinely impressed now Vitara Fanatic!!! Please try one and do yourself a favour. I can't wait uuntil I pick our upo!!!!!

    2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara - EX (A4) 4x4

    Pros: Body on frame construction

    Cons: Poor fuel ecomony

Advice: Drive all the rest then drive this one. Don't just take it around the block take it for 60 minutes.

2004 Grand Vitara EX 4x4 is a great vehicle. At $18,500 after rebates purchased in September of 04 I am completely impressed. Yes this is a truck. Body on frame beats RAV4 and CR-V hands down. No it's not fast or nimble but it can handle anything you dish out. Great standard features and nice refinement. Suzuki offers better incentives than all the rest.
