2006 Suzuki Aerio SX - Base (M5) FWD Hatchback

    Pros: interior lighting (amber)

Cons: I had to replace the front brakes twice within the year (I purchased the vehicle in 12/2004). The first time I replaced the brakes was 6 months after I purchased the car. The second time was in December of 2005

Advice: Research the car thoroughly before you decide to buy. Find out about the durability of the brake system

Test drive was very good. I liked the interior dash lighting and the high seating in the back. The space in the rear for outdoors activities, like fishing and picnicing

2006 Suzuki Aerio SX - Premium (M5) FWD Hatchback

    Pros: Interior

    Cons: Road noise

Advice: Do test drive the Scion

I have driven just over 1700 miles and have enjoyed just how much the car handles and accelerates. Would like to see the road noise deminished and rear disk brakes added. Great gas mileage so far around 29-30 Hwy/City driving.

2006 Suzuki Aerio SX - Premium AWD AWD Hatchback

    Pros: AWD

    Cons: Engine noise, road noise

Advice: Go for the works, get the SX

Aerio SX AWD: I've put 6K miles on my 2005 Aerio in 3 months. This is the first car I've bought that I haven't had to take back to the dealer for anything! Well equipped, handles, rides, brakes well. Noise, Vibration, and Harshness doesn't rate up to other Japanese cars but it's performance and utility have won my heart. Great warranty, everything works very well on this car.

    2002 Suzuki Aerio SX - (M5)

    Pros: STYLE OF THE CAR

    Cons: CONSTANT MECHANICAL PROBLEMS

    Advice: DONT BUY THIS CAR

I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 03/02 AND HAD A BAD EGG SMELL SINCE THE 1ST DAY, A PROBLEM WITH AN ENGINE PULLEY THAT TOOK 2 YEARS TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX. (AND NOT UNDER WARRANTY). NOW I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A CONSTANT RATTLE UNDERNEATH THE CAR AND IF I GO ABOVE 60 THE STEERING VIBRATES UNCONTROLABLE.

2004 Suzuki Aerio SX - (M5) FWD Hatchback

    Pros: interior design

Cons: all the problems that are getting expensive to fix

Advice: realise 'bumper to bumper warranty' doesn't really mean that!

Have had the car eight months. LOVE the design - you can camp in this car - you can actually sit up in it, with the seats folded flat. Nice built ins in back for storage. Has good pick up for passing cars. Visability is pretty good. Sound system is very nice. Lower lumbar support in seats is nice and hard. Downsides: Gas mileage SUCKS(!!!!) - no where near what was quoted in manuals or on sticker for an automatic. Expect consumption more like a V8. My old Toyota Tercel took half as much gas. Paint chips very easily. I had bird doo on my car shortly after getting it. Paint came off with the bird doo - and I cleaned it off (water only with paper towel!) within five minutes of it happening! (Oh - and the paint 'fixer' that comes with the marker/ brush to do touch ups - I was able to do a good job fixing it ...until the dealership washed the car the next time it was in for repairs - and the touch up paint WASHED OFF!) Car does weird 'bursts of excelation' when driving which are a bit surprising and hard to get used to. Parallel parking and lane changing to the right can be tricky due to the high pillars on the back right. Repairs - all my 15v fuses went at the same time when the car was just over six months old. Two weeks later, the 'service engine soon' light won't go off. Starting to feel like I got a lemon... Little hook things that are supposed to hold the front mats in place - one wasn't installed when I picked up the car and the dealership refused to install it - said Suzuki is getting away from them. The other one has since pulled out as well! So, all in all - it's more picky small things that are making this car less than fun to lease. So far, my old 20+ year old Toyota Tercel with next to no problems, is still rating higher. (why I kept it SO long!) So - ending here - have to go take the car in the dealership now for more 'repairs' related to that engine service light. Probably another $50....no, not kidding. Appt. is in half an hour. [This is getting old!] IGNORE - the location - I'm in British Columbia - there's no way to put in a postal code.
