    2002 Acura RSX - Base (M5)

    Pros: The leather bucket seats. Wrap around you like a glove and keep you very comfortable on those long drives. And the shifting on the 5spd is very smooth

    Cons: The holes where the foglights are supposed to go if you don't have them. Just looks like something is missing. I have a feeling I'll be having those installed shortly to complete the look

    Advice: Definitely test drive it - don't go by looks alone. And consider spending the little extra for the leather interior and the optional spoiler. Worth every penny.

    Just picked up my car on Tuesday and abolutely love it. Corners as well as - if not better than - more expensive sports cars, looks fantastic, handles very well. Lots of power even if you don't get the Type-S. Many safety features make you feel very secure and comfortable. I have no doubt this will be the best car I have ever owned. And the looks - the interior looks very modern with the titanium finish and round dials - the exterior is very sporty and looks even better with the optional rear wing spoiler

    2002 Lexus IS 300 - Manual Sedan

    Pros: The tightness of the car in every aspect!!

    Cons: ??

    Advice: get a car cover.

    Gripping, Literally!! This car stays on the road. When you get in the car it feels like the car is pulled over and around you. When you hit a 90 degree right turn at 45 and you never slide in your seat or on the road that is when you know that the car can handel. Also available at the dealer is a L-Tuned package. You can get 18-inch rims and a sport suspension.

    2002 Acura RSX - Type S (M6)

    Pros: New engine.

    Cons: blind spots.

    Advice: Be prepared to be blown away!

    An excellent replacement for the Integra, upping the ante in the process. I bought a 1999 Integra GS-R two years ago and have loved it. But 15 minutes in this car and I'm seriously considering trading the 'old' girl in. I love the changes, from the nasty new growl and very quick rise to the 8000 RPM redline of the i-VTEC to the improved stiffness and reduced body roll of the MacPherson struts during cornering. Nice low end torque now. Where I had to give the Integra a fair amount of gas to get going from a standing start to keep it from stalling, the RSX almost leaps off the line in comparison. The car feels weightier and more glued to the road without sacrificing agility. This car feels much more like a luxury sports car should feel. I love the racecar inspired ammenities (small diameter steering wheel, racestyle bucket seats, racecar style gauges, etc.) They also finally have some decent cup holders in this car. There are a couple of blind spots, but the larger side mirrors can be adjusted to compensate adequately. The new transmission is a little tricky to get used to but shifting is smooth as glass. I wish they had put lower profile 17 inchers on it instead of the 16's. Also, heated seats (hey, it is a luxury coupe right?) would be a nice touch on a cold winter day. These are minor quibbles though. All around a great. Test drive it, you won't be disappointed!

    2002 Acura RSX - Type S (M6)

    Pros: The power and quickness. It purrs like a kitten and growls like a lion when you want it to!!

    Cons: No arm rest for for long trips.

    Advice: Buy it. Great value and you will have fun with it.

    Awesome! The Type S has great short throw shift gear. Let me just say I've raced this car hard on the freeway and backroads and it is amazing. The car will hug hairpin turns with great stability. The bucket seats help you stay in place with any hard sharp cornering.

    2002 Acura RSX - Base (M5)

    Pros: 6 Speed. The 6th gear helps at highway speed. Better gas mileage with low RPM operation.

    Cons: The two big blind spots. The car has 2 large mirrors to fix this problem.

    Advice: Replace the shift knob with the optional metal one. If you get a cargo net have the dealer do it. It's a pain to install. Test drive this car!

    RSX Type S Smooth and powerful. This car has power at low RPM all the way to the 8000 RPM Redline. Shifting action is the best I have ever felt. The gates are close and the throws short. The clutch is easy to work for smooth yet fast shifts. At highway speeds in 6th gear the car still pulls hard. It's easy to find yourself doing well over 80 MPH without realizing it. The climate control works very well. The seats wrap around you and hold you in place when cornering hard. I didn't know a car could feel or ride like this for under 25,000. Amazing!

    2002 Volkswagen Cabrio - GL (M5)

    Pros: exterior looks

    Cons: performance, safety, drurability, everything!

    Advice: Don't buy it!

    I purchased a 2001 Cabrio, automatic, and all I have had is problems with this car. My air bags don't function properly. My air bag lights keep on coming on indicating that there are problems with the car. The gas mileage is horrible and the a/c is not cold at all. I took it in and they say that it is normal when other cars, by far, have much colder ac. I had a saturn before this and it drove wonderfully! Don't buy this car. It is the cheapest convertible out there but it is not worth it!

    2002 Ford Thunderbird - Premium (110A)

    Pros: The overall styling. Classic lines, retro features like the grill and porthole hardtop.

    Cons: The interior is rather mundane compared to the high style exterior.

    Advice: Order now and expect a long wait unless you're willing to pay a big premium.

    Ford hasn't let anyone test drive this car yet (3/9/01). However, based on information about the Lincoln LS - which shares the same powertrain and platform - it should be a good performance, nice handling, smooth ride. The shortened chassis reportedly caused some rear-end stability problems, but Ford pushed back the Job1 date to 5/21/01 to remedy that. The real difficulty with this car will be finding a way to test drive before purchase. Most dealers are already overbooked and charging a hefty premium to would-be buyers. The best I can say is the clean, classic styling and Thunderbird heritage makes this a must-have for the enthusiast, and hope its drivability lives up to the reputation of the brand name.
