    2009 Saab 9-7X

    It's a Chevy

    Pros: None

Cons: Everything esp the truck like ride

Good luck getting this Chevy truck serviced. GM dealers will tell you they don't do SAABs now that GM's raping and pillaging of this once proud brand is over. SAAB dealers, those few left, will tell you it's not really a SAAB.

    2001 Saab 9-5

    So reliable!

Pros: The Harmon Kardon sound system is superb.

Cons: The GM parts sharing. My HVAC controls look like they came right out of a Buick.

I bought my car used with only 17k miles on it. It's now at 42K and other than usual maintenance I have had NO major problems with this car. I have only two small complaints - the led inside the driver's side heated seat switch doesn't light up anymore, so in the dark I have to count the clicks to know what it's set on, and the rear window washer (I have the wagon version) has never worked. I had it fixed once at the dealership and it worked for a week and stopped again. I never bothered to go back, b/c honestly I don't use it much anyway. That's it. No other complaints - not bad for a nine year old car.

    2002 Saab 9-5

Does Everything I want in a car

    Pros: turbo acceleration

    Cons: plastidc headlights

Despite the seemingly fair reputation Saab has, I find Saab cars to be everything I want in a car. Because of that reputation, I can find great deals on used Saabs- the current one I own is my third. What I like is the power of the turbo with the great gas mileage. Just this past weekend on an 8 hour trip to the Delaware shore, I averaged 34 mpg, both ways. Also, the towing capacity is 2000 lbs, which is unusual for a 4 cylinder, and I am able to tow my camping trailer. I do admit they do need to update the styling.

    2008 Saab 9-7X - 5.3i

    Pros: Navigation system

Cons: lack of storage for small item in front

Advice: Drive it and compare to the competiton.

Great SUV, you must drive it. More standard features than the competition at a much lower price. If you need a real SUV and want luxury, the 9-7x is it. Financing options are great

    2003 Saab 9-5 - Arc Sedan

Pros: Ventilated seats, sport mode,Harman Kardon stereo and unique styling.

Cons: Vibration during red light stoppage.

Advice: Go for a used one, you will get the best deal for a luxirious, sport sedan.

I have had my SAAB 95 Arc for about 6 months and it is absolutely trouble free. I have taken it on long trips which dazzled me bcos of its performance. I test drove infiniti G35 and a volvo S 60 before settling for the Saab.If you don't want to own a Saab, then never test drive one.

    2007 Saab 9-3 - 2.0T Sport Sedan

    Pros: none

    Cons: the car

    Advice: don't buy it

2006 SAAB 93 2.0T - 20000miles. 'Gear box malfunction' message came on. I took the car to the dealer, paid $105 for the diagnostics. They said it just needs software updates. They did that, I took the car from there. Went with it 2 miles, the same message came on. Took the car back to the dealer. Now they say is the transmission and the estimate for replacing it is $ 3300 (even though, when I called the same dealer they told me the transmission is $1565 and labor is $1005)....weirdddd. Ohh...and when I asked the service guy from the dealer how about the warranty on the new transmission, he told me laughing: 12000 miles. at the question: ' Does that mean that the new one will break at 13000 miles?', the dealer guy just answered 'Maybe'. Anyways, I never thought a transmission can go down at 20000 miles. One thing is for sure: I'll never buy another saab in my life. Not only the car broke, but both the dealer and the central Saab don't want to talk about the problem (they say they do not know the cause....weird...specially because I paid for a diagnostics) so, do you still want to buy a saab?
