    2006 Pontiac Torrent - AWD

    Pros: Style

    Cons: Not reliable.

Advice: Avoid this vehicle. It is not reliable.

I started having transmission problems 1 week after buying the vehicle. I have taken it to the dealer 5 times for the same problem. It is currently being worked on for the third time for the same problem.

    2006 Pontiac Torrent - FWD

Pros: I love the radio controls on the steering wheel and the way the interior lights all light up red at night, looks awesome!

Cons: My only complaint is that the luggage rack crossbars can easily be taken completely off by anyone who walks by

Advice: Take one for a test drive and you will fall in love with its comfortability

Fun to drive, great looking SUV. There is an awesome amount of passenger room in this vehicle and the driver seat adjustments make it very comfortable to drive. I have the Metallic Blue Streak and it draws a lot of attention due to the fact that in certain lights it looks like a dark purple. The tinted windows, chrome fog lights, split grill and luggage rack really help give the Torrent the sporty look that makes peoples heads turn. I have really enjoyed sitting near the window in restaraunts and watching people stop and look it over. The cargo shelf is a great feature and can be configured in many different ways. I also like the fact that the back seat will move forward 8 inches to make more cargo space. My friends all love the fact that the back seats recline. Another great feature about the seating is the 60/40 split rear seat for different cargo configurations and the ease in which the seats can be reclined or folded down. No need to reach under the seat and fumble with a lever, there is an easy to reach, quick release lever on the top of the seats. I've owned other SUV's and none of the back seats have ever been this easy to work with. People seem to worry about suspension and how it rides. I would have to admit that you can feel bumps in the road while driving the Torrent, but since you are not driving a luxury car I don't see why that's a big deal. The suspension is better than most trucks and SUV's and is probably comparable to the average car. Again, it's not a luxury car with self-leveling shocks, so of course you are going to feel some movement. It drives great, plenty of power with it's v6. Handles like a car and not a jerky SUV. The dashboard is low and easy to see over. All of the driver's controls are easy to reach and use. I absolutely love driving this thing. It's a lot of fun. I do hate having to wash the bugs off of the grill though. But I have to because it's such a great looking ride that I cannot let it be dirty. I highly recommend the Torrent to anyone who needs some extra room but does not want to look like a soccer mom. Or even to soccer mom's who want to look cool.

    2006 Pontiac Torrent - AWD

Pros: I love the power this little vehicle has!

Cons: The front end is difficult to see over sometimes when making parking judgements.

Advice: When test driving please try parking this vehicle by pulling into spaces.

Pontiac has done a superb job with this new car. It is a very comfortable AWD vehicle. We reside in Pittsburgh PA area and winters can get really tough so this vehicle fit the bill. This is a very roomy vehicle with great standard features. There is a great amount of power, tinted windows, easily accessible controls, and what an eye catching vehicle. The front end is a little boxy in terms of parking and the wheel base is very wide that you have to be very careful when turning into a parking space but overall it worth the money.

    2006 Pontiac Torrent - FWD

    Pros: Dashboard & control design

Cons: After only 3 months and just under 5,000 miles it started to leak. Dealership thought it was a freeze plug but has since discovered IT'S A DEFECTIVE ENGINE BLOCK - POUROUS METAL!!! New engine ordered, but this doesn't instill confidence ..........

Advice: Caution - while this SUV has nice interior detail & standard SUV storage advantage; the engine experience has tainted my opinion.

Driver & pasenger access are exceptional - great for seniors or folks with agility difficulties - wide door openings and plenty of leg room. The temperture & air flow from the heating system was commendable. I was impressed with how 'ambient' it was - never felt the blast of air yet cabin temp was exacting. Very good controls. Gas mileage hit the projected range. Seating is extremely comfortable - if you prefer stiffer support, which I do. Overall exterior appearance is more sporty than dowdy!

    2006 Pontiac Torrent - AWD

Pros: The Interior is Awesome, comfortable and looks really great!

Cons: Nothing. I have no complaints about the torrent.

    Advice: ENJOY!

This is an excellent suv. From the awesome sporty look of the exterior to the classy interior i am in love with my torrent. I have neever noticed any noise on mine, and i think the power seat control is okay in its position, as i alwasy adjust the seat before i drive anyway. The interior is great, alot of room and really sharp looking. It handles like a car...nice and smooth with barely any road noise. I have received nothin but compliments on the torrent..as i own the clear lake colour...but i have been and will be the only one to drive my torrent...so if you are looking for info on the drive...take one on a test drive and see for yourself! I fell in love with it as soon as i sat in it!

    2006 Pontiac Torrent - FWD

Pros: LOOKS,DRIVE ,THE WAY IT HANDLES THE TURNS, COMFORT, SAFTEY FEATURES

Cons: POWER SEAT CONTROLS ON LEFT OF SEAT. EMERGENCY BRAKE TO CRAMPED.

Advice: ENJOY THE RIDE, WE TRIED LOTS, AND IT'S THE BEST. MAYBE IT'S THE NEXT 64 1/2 MUSTANG COLLECTOR MODEL.

WE TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE, AND WE KNEW IT WAS THE SUV FOR US. THE COLOR, 'CRYSTAL LAKE' IS BEAUTIFUL. IT CHANGES COLOR IN DIFFERENT SUN LIGHTS. BACK SEAT IS UNBEATABLE. WE LIKE THE RECLINE,AND THE 8' MOVEMENT IT HAS. WE GOT ALL THE GOODIES, ONSTAR, XM RADIO, PHONE, WE DID PUT OUR OWN 17' CHROME WHEELS ON IT,SIDE WINDOW VISORS,AND HAD THE TWO FRONT WINDOWS TINTED ONE STEP DARKER,WE LIVE IN THE DESERT, AND IT WILL KEEP THE SUV COOLER. THE BACK SEAT IS MUCH EASIER TO GET IN AND OUT COMPAIRED TO THE SPORTAGE, WITH THE WHEEL WELL ON THE SPORTAGE UP SO HIGH. ONLY A FEW THINGS WE'D FIX FOR THE 2007 MODEL. 1. BUT THE DRIVERS POWER SEAT CONTROLS BY THE WINDOW CONTROLS OR BY THE DRIVERS DOOR. THEY ARE HARD TO GET TO WHILE DRIVING. 2. EMERGENCY BRAKE HARD TO GET TO.NOT MUCH ROOM. MAYBE BACK TO THE 'OLD LEFT FOOT BRAKE,' SINCE THE LEFT FOOT DOES NOTHING AND THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM ON THE FLOOR. OTHER THAN THAT, IT PERFECT. LEGG ROOM IS GREAT. STORAGE GREAT. GREAT BUY FOR US.
