2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback - FWD
Pros: 2.4 liter mivec engine runs fairly quiet and delivers decent power, continuous variable transmission shifts smoothly, handsome car, 10 year warranty, crash protection, immobilizer security system.
Cons: VERY POOR: SUSPENSION, rear visibility, front seat supports, fuel economy , mits calif headquarters customer service, no light in trunk, no remote trunk release, ½ way alarm, active not passive.
Advice: In my opinion, this car is an engineering NIGHTMARE. Mits built a superior engine and trannie and then went to sleep on most of the important features that make a car desirable and comfortable. AND IT IS NOT A GOOD CITY CAR - BETTER HIGHWAY CAR.The RIDE IS AWFUL - the worst I have ever experienced. Very small bumps are okay and smooth roads great. But any other size bumps are bad jolts - very uncomfortable and aggravating. ROAD NOISE is pronounced because poor insulation. The rear View is awful - obstructed by low hatchback, head rests, and passengers. This causes problems parking, backing, and can cause the car to be accident prone. Back support is poor in front seats. The stability control does not always stop straight - veers to right. Fuel economy is poor. The cheap plastics on the dashboard cause easy scratches. The key cost $300 to replace and have mits reprogram it. Mits customer service in Calif is not very helpful.
2009 Mitsubishi Lancer - ES FWD
Pros: Comfort, Safety, reliability, less target for theft.
Cons: Fuel Economy is well below it's competitors.
Advice: Buy it if comfort and safety satisfy you. If you're looking for good Fuel Economy it's not the car to buy.The lancer drives very well. It's as quiet as any of it's competitors, as corolla, etc. It soaks up most of the bumps with minimum effect in the passanger car. It's engine, a dohc with Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timming and it's continuously variable transmission both work to perfection. I've had two prior generation lancers and they all were highly reliable, with minimum repairs and breakdowns under severe use. The car is very safe and sturdy - uses very strong steel. The only flaw is that the epa fuel economy is already below it's competitors and below the prior generation lancer 2006. And when you drive it - it seems like it's below the epa estimates also.
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer - GTS
Pros: Combo NAV computer/HDD/Sirius sat radio
Cons: Engine power output w/ CVT tranny
Advice: Good buy for commuting, but don't expect to have a blast driving it.I owned the 04' Ralliart Lancer before, and traded it in for the 08' as soon as I saw it on the lot. The car is feature packed for the cost, as long as you get the GTS model with the NAV package. The technology keeps you occupied on long drives to work, while the comfort level keeps you happy when you get there. The only downside is that the CVT version of this car feels downright anemic when you step on the gas. It takes it's time to get moving, but once it gets up and running it hums along easily. Would recommend.
2002 Mitsubishi Diamante - LS (A4)
Advice: First test drive a Mitsubishi before buy a different car and feel it.Compare the price, waranty and the features and then decide what to buy. This is a very smooth car that really couldnt recognize for the people who called pros.Every single person that I know respect this car and they thinks its really cool. Most of them hadn't even heard about the Diamante before, so I love it I dont drive a car that you can see in every corner.Designe is unique and acceleration is awesome.Comfirt is really high and the music is exceptional.Lot of features.I owned this car for 2 and half years and I didnt hv any trouble besides an oil change.I did test drives on many cars in this class and non of them were better than the Diamante.I love my 03 Diamante and its a great car.My next car will be a Mitsubishi, but not a Diamante because They dont sell Diamante in USA anymore.
2007 Mitsubishi Galant - Ralliart (A5)
Pros: When you punch it
Cons: no xenon headlights
Advice: test drive oneI traded my Infinity M45 for this car. I am glad I did. This car is a great comfortable ride very quiet, great acceleration, nice engine note, amazing stereo!!!, Nav system better than my 80K Phaeton. Very easy to use 10 minutes and your on your way. I think Mitsu is making a great effort here. give it a look before going with the boring Toyota or Honda. The warranty blows them away. Great fit and finish on mine.
2006 Mitsubishi Galant - DE
Pros: size of the trunk
Cons: engine noise
Advice: BEWARE(2004 model) I bought this car new in September 2004. The selling feature was the free scheduled maintenance. However before I had 15,000 miles on the car. I was told that the rotors needed to be replaced. Having had 4 cars before this one that was quite surprising. Before 20,000 miles the brakes needed replacing and before 30000 miles the tires needed replacing. I might say this was a fluke but my best friend bought one the same week for the same reason and has had the exact same problems and mechanics say that these problems are common. And as for the free scheduled maintenance all they did was change the oil and rotate the tires for 2 years. Very disappointing.
2006 Mitsubishi Galant - LS
