    2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class - Base

Pros: The power (when it doesn't decellerate)

Cons: All the problems and the lack of support from MB

Advice: Take this review very seriously so you don't end up like us.

Be careful when looking at this vehicle. This was our first MB, and we are very unhappy with this vehicle. It's comfortable and a beautiful car. But, we have had nothing but problems with it. We have had it 2 months and it's been in the shop for half the time. Steering wheel problems (3 times), dash noise (once), door noise (once), deceleration when you step on the gas pedal (twice). I have had no support from MB in regards to trading this vehicle in. It's almost like their turning their backs to us. This will most likely be the last MB that we purchase. BMW here we come!

    2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class - Base

Pros: Looks, handling, interior , its all good!

Cons: 19's a bit skinny. Tires could have been wider.

Advice: Drive this car!! Also ask for Bob Lasagne at MB of Larchmont NY, Tell him I sent you!

Make no mistake about it. Mercedes Benz has finally got it right with the new ML500. I just recently purchase this 2006 car in black with the AMG appearnce package. Interior - Looks sharp, nice lines and with the AMG pack it gives the car a distinctive look. For those amatuer car reviewers who compares this vehicle to the Lexus this is just a poor attempt at conspiring to put MB down again. Interior - Well laid out instruments, great soundsystem, roomy and very quiet. Performance - The V8 does this car very well. Smooth, silky and potent. This is a great car and in my opinion will beat anything in its class.

    2002 Mercedes-Benz M-Class - Base

Pros: Bose Sound system, looks, features

    Cons: acceleration, gas mileage,

Advice: Negotiate, Negotiate, Negotiate on price, buy ext warranty

I recently purchased a preowned ML 320-39k miles, and i'm a little disappointed to say the least. Acceleration from a standstill seems to be lacking, however top end 70+ mph is good. The interior trim appears loose around door panels, cupholders in the most UNergonomic location, and the seats seem to be a little flat. Ride quality is good, however road noise seems to be excessive imho for a MB. I agree CD changer should be more accessable than in the trunk. I guess i expected a lot more out of MB even if i was buying one used.

    2005 Mercedes-Benz M-Class - Base

    Pros: Engine power

Cons: Certain parts are not Mercedes quality - ceiling, dash board

Advice: Its an excellent SUV, but it is not a true Mercedes

Plenty of horsepower, and excellent handling, especially on wet surface. The seats are very comfortable. The vehicle size is just right, not too large and not too small. However, the engine is very thirsty, especially in city driving. I am averaging about 12 to 14 in city, but pretty good on highway at 18 to 20 MPG.

    2002 Mercedes-Benz M-Class - Base

    Pros: Handling in bad weather

Cons: Can' Upgrade Cell phone. Have to spend 2K for new system. 12CD Nav system

Advice: Stay away from M Class. Built In US is cause of so many problems.

I own a 2002 & have replaced ByZeon Headlights. Replaced the Gas Tank because of a sensor. The Dash board panel because of sensor problems with the Nav System at night. Break pads at 28,000 MI. The window washer reover due to a crack The rear inside door handle fell off. The rear ash tray came apart. Had to replace all the chips & Master controller for the voice activated telephone system. Rattles in the right passenger door. Have to sell this car. Constant Maintenance problems.

    2004 Mercedes-Benz M-Class - Base

    Pros: Excellent visibility

Cons: The radio control knob is placed in an inconvenient location

Advice: Bargain with the dealers! They are flexible on the pricing.

I have only had this car for three weeks, but so far I am extremely satisfied. It does drive like a truck, even though it still feels smooth and handles well.
