    2003 Mazda Tribute - ES V6 (A4) FWD

Pros: The upgraded stereo, the cold package

Cons: The gear shift is in the way of the radio controls

Advice: Test with the radio off. There is some noise when accelerating.

I really enjoy this vehicle. The noise when accelerating does not bother me, but it was bothersome to my husband. I just turn up the radio.:) I love the color combinations.

    2003 Mazda Tribute - LX V6 (A4) FWD

    Pros: Appearance inside and out.

Cons: Gear shift in the way.

Advice: Don't pay for the name of Mazda's competitors!

Very comfortable and roomy. Looks very sporty, like 'an SUV raised by a family of sports cars.' Good power and good handling. I have the LX with every option but leather seats. The in dash 6 disc changer is nice as well as the upgraded stereo. Love the moon roof but not the controls for it. The only negatives I have are the gear shift and the eye-sore antenna. Outperforms the more common named competition like Ford, Nissan, Toyota and Jeep but their names sell.

    2003 Mazda Tribute - ES V6 (A4) 4x4

Pros: Radio, Paint Job, Handling, Rear Seat Tilt

Cons: Gas mileage, Some interior plastic looks cheap

    Advice: test drive above 50mph,

I have the 2003 Tribute ES 4WD w/ Luxury Package&Cold Package. I had it now for over 3 months with 4,000 miles on it. I still can't take the smile off my face!:) The heated seats are great. Seats take about 1 minute to warm up & 3 minutes for the SUV. Engine has great power to merge you onto the freeways. Tribute handles great in all weather conditions even the snow (over 40 inches this year). There is some wind noise going past 50mph but the radio usually drowns it out. Get the 190 watt stereo w/ the subwoofer; it sounds outstanding compare to the standard radio. The paint job is awesome. My tribby shines all the time. The Tribute might look small on the outside, but has tons of room on the inside. My GF is 5’2” and loves to drive it. She fits very well, as do I (6’). Still looking for a blind spot. If I had a chance to purchase another compact SUV, it would still be the Tribute. Never regretted it for 1 second! The best bang for my buck!

    2003 Mazda Tribute - ES V6 (A4) 4x4

    Pros: Appearance

    Cons: Key slot position

Advice: Purchase the outside temperature option, you'll love it.

Wonderful vehicle. Test drove Honda CRV, Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4 and Hyundae. Mazda handled the best. Escape, although very similar in drive train and style, is a step lower in quality, appearance and extras. Honda, Toyota and Hyundae lack adequate power on hills and highway passing. Gas milage on all vehicles is dismal. I have a Honda Odyssey whose engine should be put into the CRV which would make it comparable to the Tribute. Overall I'd recommend the Tribute.

    2003 Mazda Tribute - ES V6 (A4) 4x4

    Pros: way it feels

    Cons: no mudguards

    Advice: do it

loved it! It feels like the advertisement says, a suv with the soul of a sports car. I have driven suv's for many years and so far this is the easiest and most comfortable one in its price class.

    2002 Mazda Tribute - ES V6 (A4) 4x4

Pros: Body style and engine performance. Great stereo system as well.

Cons: Wind noise (see additional comments).

Advice: Test drive without radio on and in an area where you can build up speed.

I purchased the 2002 model in September 2001. The entire steering rack had to be replaced within two months of purchase, but no other problems since. I like the body style of this vehicle, the roomy interior, and the engine power. There are a few minor changes I would prefer: power passenger seat, lighted cruise controls on steering wheel, deeper size storage bins and a single slotted storage bin at top, rather than the two small areas for sunglasses, etc. The one real complaint I have is the wind noise inside the vehicle. I had my dealership check out the rubber seals around the windows, and no problems found. The wind noise is quite significant, and I am always being asked if there is a window down. If anyone else has had this problem, PLEASE email me. I would appreciate the input. I love this vehicle, but find myself wanting to trade vehicles when the wind noise really bothers me.

    2003 Mazda Tribute - ES V6 (A4) 4x4

    Pros: Handeling and the interior

Cons: It gets really dirty with out mud flaps

Advice: Look at all your local Mazda dealers, maybe you will get a good deal like I did

Great handeling, it felt like I was driving a sports car instead of an SUV.
