    2005 Mazda Tribute - s (A4) FWD

    Pros: Looks and Price

    Cons: Inside body creaks

Advice: Test drive awhile first-listen for creaks

As I've heard from other reviewers on other sites, my 05 Tribute is also now making creak and groan noises in the doors upon acceleration, stopping and turning. Some WD-40 or silicone spread around the door rubber stops it for a day or two. This is a road noise quieter vehicle than the 01 Tribute I had and thankfully they got rid of that horrid shifter on the column!

    2006 Mazda Tribute - i (A4) FWD

Pros: the style, the size ,the comfort and the handling.

    Cons: the emergency brake placement

Advice: good car, you'll like it.

On the plus side :The Tribute is a pretty looking vehicle, has all the comforts and the room of a large/midsize SUV,it has a powerful 6cyl engine, excellent pickup, and handles very well. The privacy glass for the back seat and cargo areas is a definite plus. It is solid, with good lines, easy to get in and out and the seating is very comfortable all around. On the other hand: It's noisy against the road, the emergency brake should have been put on the driver side of the center console instead of the front passenger side. The cruise control is fine except that finding it at night is a chore. But overall is an excellent vehicle, I give it a 4 1/2 stars.

    2005 Mazda Tribute - s (A4) FWD

    Pros: Standard 16' tires

Cons: pesky beeping noise if you don't buckle up within 1 min of driving.

Advice: price out comparable Escape for a great negotiating tool

Considered the Mariner and Escape but couldn't pass up the Tribute's better looks, warranty, and incentives. The v6 has impressive power without sacrificing fuel economy. I did test drive the 4 cyl and it did not feel underpowered. The v6 model just happened to have all the right features and it was in stock. Resale on this vehicle so far seems to be better than its competitors. I'm very happy with my Tribute.

    2003 Mazda Tribute - LX V6 (A4) 4x4

    Pros: The 6-cd player.

Cons: Performance, feel of hestitation when accelerating

    Advice: Do not buy

In a short 24 months of ownership I have experienced stalling, hesitation upon acceleration, 2 recalls, peeling paint on the roof, faulty and continuously frozen door locks, and enough headache to last a lifetime.

    2005 Mazda Tribute - s (A4) 4x4

    Pros: 4 cylinder performance

    Cons: No white letter tires

Advice: Compare to CRV and VUE

Crisp handling...good get-up and go for a 4 cylinder engine. You sit high for a small SUV.

    2005 Mazda Tribute - s (A4) 4x4

    Pros: everything

Cons: dealer did not have one with Package 3 (heated seats)

    Advice: research/compare

outstanding! I test drove a Mercury Mariner and a Ford Escape. Tribute - quieter, seemed to ride better. Stereo is awesome, lots of room front and rear. Better warranty than Mercury or Ford. Better interior than Ford or Mercury, even though manufactured by Ford! Have only owned for six weeks, so far I love it!
