    2003 Mazda Protege5 - (M5)

Pros: the interior is sleek and I love the black cloth

Cons: it's narrow inside and the seats need to be broken in

Advice: it's a great car for the consumer that doesn't have money to burn.

This is a good car with a great warranty and it can be marked down to half the sticker price if the dealership really wants a sale. It is small but handles well and is better looking and cooler than the regular 4 door protege. I like it.

    2003 Mazda Protege5 - (M5)

Pros: I love my 6CD in dash changer and sunroof (didn't have this before)

Cons: I dislike low profile tires, I have a fobia of hitting the ground over rocky roads.

Advice: For some reason, I am constantly chaning my mind which color is the best.

I love the way Mazda feels. Used to have 323 before, plus smaller, manageable size is very appealing. My favorite is to drive barefoot and this vehicle is getting a perfect score for comfort and fun when driving. It is very quick and great to drive in the city. Has some great options as standard (auto entry, doors, locks, mirrors) are all standard. Very roomy - my husband is 6'4' 210 lbs and finds it very comfortable to ride in as well.

    2003 Mazda Protege5 - (M5)

Pros: attractive interior & exterior, practicality, great value

Cons: engine boominess and could use more power

Advice: Get the stick shift for more oomph

Great little vehicle. Consider it a front-drive Miata with lots of room and you'll be close. When you enjoy its handling, you can tell it was made by the same folks who brought you the zoom-zoom Miata. The interior and exterior look upscale (like a Lexus IS300 SportCross for nearly half the price). Very practical and roomy, and fun to drive as well. Mazda discounts plus dealer incentives can save you $2250 on year-end 2003 models, so get our there and get one while there are still some left!!

    2003 Mazda Protege5 - (M5)

Pros: the engine! zoom zoom zoom ya know

Cons: lack of standard safety features

    Advice: nice car, but overpriced

I test drove several cars in this class and this car was the only real competion from the one i ended up buying instead. The dealer turned me off a bit with high pressure tactics. The car itself was just as fun to drive as the commercials would have you beleive, you find yourself humming the 'zoom, zoom, zoom' jingle. It accelerated quickly, turns were tight, the body was stiff with no lean, it was fun to shift. I test drove it with 4 adults in it and it did not seem to notice the load, was very responsive. The exterior styling is attractive and the engine has that characteristic Mazda thrum i remember my from dad's old RX-7. Now, the bad parts. ABS and side airbags are a rather pricey add on instead of standard equipment. Why should a car which has this level of performance and pricetag not come with at least ABS standard? The AC on the one i drove never did get cold, this does not bode well for my Florida climate. The cost to insure, even with the add on safety package included, was astronomical compared to other vehicles in the class. In summary, i think this is a good little car, but overpriced, lacking essential safety features, and expensive to insure.

    2003 Mazda Protege5 - (M5)

    Pros: Sport Auto/Manual shifting

Cons: I have to pay for owning this beauty.

Advice: Go to Talarico Manchester NH & tell 'Christy & Jim', Jane D. from Fremont, NH sent you in for your dream car.

This is my second Protege...first one was Protege ES 2.0. My PR5 handles and drives just as nice; but it has added 'must haves' like room for my furry family 4cats and 1 dog...for the trips to Florida in the Fall/Winter. I stayed with the same dealership, Talarico, Manchester NH. They are the best people; and will go over and beyond the other dealerships I have worked with...I have purchased too many new cars to mention...a big variety of makers. You deserve to treat yourself to a test drive and prove that what I say is true...Live near NH ?...go and tell Christy N. (sales consultant) that Jane D. from Fremont, NH sent you there. Together with her manager Jim V., they will make you very happy you stopped by. Who knows...you may buy your 'dream car' too.
