Pros: The look
Cons: The transmission and service
Advice: STAY AWAY!! Go for the V6 Altima if you want something comparableBought a 2007 Mazda 6 GT V6 in June 2007.. this car is an absolute piece of garbage. The transmission stinks, the car has no pick up, it jerks on gear changes, the quality and workmanship of the car inside and out is horrendous. The car has been in the shop 5 times in 2 months, I am on my 2nd rim and 3rd tire in the front. I bought the car with 2 defective rims. The service from the dealer in Toronto has been well below par, as has Mazda Canada. I want a refund. I will never buy another Mazda again. A terrible car and a terrible experience!
Cons: They no longer offer the package I got. They changed the models available. I'd have to get a Speed6 to get what I want IF I had to replace my car.
Advice: Buy it, you won't regret it!I got this car in September, 2006. I typically get bored with cars quickly, but I still get a smile on my face when I drive my Mazda. It drives like a dream, not to mention it's sexy. My husband just purchased a Speed3. IF I ever had to replace my 6 sport I would get a Speed6. Mazda has taken my breath away with these cars. I love them, we are definately a loyal Mazda family!
Pros: trans engine combination nearly perfect combination
Cons: quality of weatherstrip and door seals
Advice: buy if economy/ performance balance desiredHave just short of 5000 miles on a 2007 4 cyl automatic. Have been getting 26 mpg plus around town. Only real dissatisfaction comes with wind noise - a whistle caused by inadequate seal of the outside mirror bezel and a poor design and seal to the windshield header. Whistle now corrected with additional sealing, but still too much noise because flow past windshield header interupted by deep trough design. Also whistle from high speed heater blower corrected by proper sealing of the cabin filter element.
Cons: not reliable
Advice: honda or toyotamotor replaced due to defect @ 5000 miles
Pros: Sporty 4 cylinder that produces as advertised mpg
Cons: I wish it had a bit more room
Advice: Drive the 4 cylinder as well as the 6.I think that the 07 Mazda6 is a great car for the money. I purchased the 2.3L 4 cylinder i Sport Value Package with the manual transmission. I enjoy the convenience of an automatic, but the manual seemed to have a noticeable amount of 'pep' to it when comparing the two. It drives like a true sports car, yet glides over the terrain similar to a full size sedan. I owned an 01' Honda Accord EX V6 that was probably the best car I'd ever owned, but I have absolutely zero complaints since purchasing the Mazda. The only thing I might give a sure upper hand in, is that fact that Mazda claims there is as much room as an Accord and I found that to be misleading. You can comfortably seat 5 in the Mazda, but it sure doesn't feel as large as the Accord. Other than that, I'd say the Mazda6 is a car that you can enjoy if you're a family man/gal but still wanna 'zoom, zoom' from time to time. It's a fun car to drive.
Pros: Loaded with features such as steering wheel radio controls, side air bags, spoiler, ABS, traction control.
Cons: Not crazy about the upholstery.
Advice: Take a lengthy test drive.Firm, sporty ride. Feels solid and really hugs the road. We also own a 2006 Jetta and the 6 feels like an equal to the VW for $2K less. Purchased the 4 cyl. auto. and gas mileage has been very near the EPA numbers. Pleased with the purchase thus far. As another reviewer wrote, if you don't need a midsize car, then consider the Mazda 3. I really loved the ease of entry and exit and the overall feel of the 3, but we needed the extra room of the 6. Either way, a car worthy of consideration.
Pros: Heated mirrors and leather seats
Cons: Rattles from the dash underpowered motor 4 and 6 cylinder
Advice: Get the best price don't pay to much poor depreciationMazda came up with a good vehicle but falls short of other car makers. Like the motor. For cylinder is the best choice. Good japaneese reliability smooth power alittle under powered 180 hp and 170 ft lbs torque would fix that problem. As for the six for Ford it's fine Mazda just an insult. It should have more of a motor for the sport look. 260 hp and 250-270 ft lbs torque should solve that issue. Wait for 2008 model. Handling is superior. Comfort better than average and could be alittle bigger in interior. Build quality is American standard Japaneese standard is below average. Such as rattles and little stuff going wrong, handles, trims, lights and interior trim around dash and windshield rattle. Other than that it's a cheap Japaneese car that should prove worthy.
