2005 Maserati GranSport - Base
Pros: The extra kick of torque and horse power between 6000 and 7500 RPM
Cons: How the growl of the engine sets off all of the alarms in parked cars that the Gran Sport passes
Advice: Buy the car; it will simply be the most cherished automotive purchase of your super-car exploitsThe Maserati Gran Sport is simply the most awe striking car on the road today. Not only does this car deliver phenominal performance but it is undeniably the most asked about automobile I have ever driven as it is quite simply stunning to see, to hear and to drive. This very rare, hand made materpeice is truly a most unique automotive experience. It tethers absolutely beautiful lines and seamless curves with the extraordinarily powerful Ferrari F460 V8, delivering incredible horsepower and torque to the wheels through its Cambio Corsa electronically shifted 6 speed manual gearbox in a manner that no other high end super car can compare to. The Gran Sport offers the most advanced technology available today in a very simple and unfettered package of shear beauty and performance. I have owned several Porsche Turbo's, BMW M5's, Mercedes, etc.; no other car even remotely comes close to the shear joy of ownership that the Gran Sport does in combining driving expeience with style and performance. The Maerati Gran Sport has simply the most well laid out interior appointments with absolutely no frill; simple yet extremely well done with carbon fibre door trim, center console and upper steering wheel, leather door panels, seats, dash and lower steering wheel as well as a fantastic race-inspired cloth that insets the seats, door packets and interior roof. Opening the hood and seeing the red cylindar heads and enormous gold air induction manifold is breathtaking; laying the gas pedal to the floor and releasing the 400 HP and 375 ft/lbs torque of the aluminium red and gold powerplant is truly an experience. The Gran Sport virtually leaps into its power and winds through its rev's to redline at 7500 RPM with a speed, verocity and an increasingly expansive power band that is simply difficult to comprehend at first take. This car has an extreme character of performace and accelerates at a level that requires your eyes and brain to re-adjust to the compression of time/distance ratio's unseen in even the most lauded supercars. The Gran Sports handling package matches that of its engine performance. The car curls through corners and curves with absolute precision that is all totally defined through the steering wheel providing the driver with absolute precision, road feel and timing. Braking is immediate through its four wheel drilled discs and red calipers displaying the Maserati namesake. The Maserati Gran Sport is truly THE magnificent sports coupe ever brought to market and will yield Maserati and Ferrari, its parent since 1997, a new chapter in the revered history of Maserati tradition. The designers and assemblers of this magnificent piece of automotive art must be proud and honored, to say the least.

2004 Maserati Coupe - Cambiocorsa
Pros: ENGINE, F-1 PADDLE, EXTERIOR STYLING
Cons: AUDIO CONTROL SYSTEM
Advice: GET '04 OR LATER MODELS.I DROVE THIS 2004 COUPE FOR OVER 3500 KM. INITIAL PROBLEM WAS THE AIR CONDITIONING QUIT AFTER 1000 KM AND FALSE ALARM ON WIND SHIELD WASHER LIQUID LEVEL. BOTH WERE FIXED UNDER WARRENTY. NO OTHER PROBLEMS EVER SINCE. LOVE THIS CAR. F-1 PADDLE TAKES SOME TIME TO GET USED TO, ONCE YOU MASTERED IT, UP-SHFTING CAN BE QUITE SMOOTH. STOPPED AND ADMIRED ALMOST EVERY TIME DRIVING IT. USED IT DAILY AND ITS A PERFACT GT CAR THAT CAN SIT 4 PEOPLE. ITS A KEEPER. MAY BE THE '04 MODEL HAVE IMPROVED OVER THE '02 ?
2002 Maserati Coupe - Cambiocorsa
Pros: The engine, the rest of the car pales in comparison
Cons: The awkward ergonomics, and the build quality.
Advice: Not a daily driver, and the manual transmission is preferrable to the CambiocorsaWas seeking a step up from a Jaguar XJR (a fabulous car). However, the Maserati is simply not good as a daily car. Many quirks. The engineering is stellar when it comes to the engine, but the engineering is seriously lacking in the simple things that make a vehicle pleasant and desireable to live with. In addition, the car spent huge amounts of time in the dealers service department. Many parts were replaced, under warranty, however, not a good experience. I traded, at significant financial loss, for a vehicle that is, although not as exotic, far more highly developed and a joy to use, every time I drive; a Porsche 911.
2004 Maserati Spyder - Cambiocorsa
Pros: f1 transmission
Advice: be close to a dealer so you can bring it in to the shop because they are there alotabsolutely stunning car in every way. 390 to 400 horses under the hood, which i think should be increased to around 450 especially since it has the 360 engine in it and the 360's engine is being replaced by a 480 horse power engine. But once in the car it was like a rocket 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds which with a bigger engine could improve anywear up to around 4 seconds flat. if you have 90,000 to 105,000 i definately think you should consider this car
2003 Maserati Coupe - Cambiocorsa
Advice: Price is negotiableI have now had this car for 4 weeks. Interesting drive to say the least. The ride is smooth, cornering is nice, and the car 'feels' heavy. It does weigh substantially more than the 911 Porsche (my previous car). Shifting is accomplished using paddle shifters which I would rate good-not great. It appears to have a hard time shifting upward and can lag when it automatically downshifts from 2nd to 1st. Downshifting using the paddle shifter is excellent. The brakes squeak a little and the radio is worthless since they did not even put an antenna on the car. Speakers are fair. Overall a beauty to look at and a real head turner. Lots of fun. Remember it is Italian and it will have its quirks but it is much better now that Ferrari has taken over.
