My Fourth Lexus
Pros: Comfortable ride and the appearance.
Cons: Poor quality leather on seats.Like everything there is good and bad news about the latest generation of Lexus. I have owned 1992, 1996, 2004 and now the 2008 LS460. The good news is that the appearance has improved. My car is triple black with chrome lexus rims - looks great! The ride is comfortable, at 380HP the engine and the eight speed transmission are smooth and powerful, gas mileage decent 16/21. Some of the interior trim is incredibly cheap ( glove box ) door and the leather on my front drivers seat began to show wear at 20K miles ( lexus has offered to stain, not replace the leather ). Service remains good but expensive and the tires that came on the car - Bridgestone EL 42s' were subject to hydroplanning and wore out in 20,500 miles ! The best Lexus I have owned was the 2004 LS. Not that this is a bad car but I am used to excellent cars from Lexus and this one falls a bit short for $74K.
Best Vehicle I've Ever owned and I've owned over 1
Pros: All features are great, no one favorite
Cons: Side view Mirrors & the Tinted back window. We have 2 Identical RX400h. That's how much we love it. I like the looks better that the newer RX450h.
Pros: DOOR OPEN BUTTON
Cons: BACK SEAT ROOMTHIS CAR IS FAST ANT STYLISH
Canada screwed up a good product
Pros: Electronics are nice
Cons: RattlesThe Lexus RX line has been the benchmark for all to follow until now. My new RX 350 looks nice, fit is good not excellent, ride is rough if not down right poor and the worst problem are rattles. I mean lots of rattles. Little to no quality control. Buy a Honda CRV and save a lot of cash.
Cons: like everthing on the auto
Advice: Buy one you won't be sorryComfort drive, turns on a dime, generous loading capacity, great on road trips, rear automatic opener
Cons: Size of interior
Advice: Not for tall peopleCar rides smooth, handles curves great. You would not know that you were riding in an suv.
Cons: Nothng honestly
Advice: If you can afford it by all means possible GET ITOwned it now over 7 years and like my 3 before never had to go into shop for any type of repair. No body builds them like Lexus. Mercedes tries but falls short and BMW just isn't as comfortable on a trip--sorry little brother. IT looks good okay. My Mercedes cost $800 every 15000 mile average(in the 80's) service fee, my Lexus is NOTHING like that can use anybody to change the oil et al and keep the warranty.
