Pros: Size & Shape
Cons: It doesn't come with antilock brakes or security system.
Advice: If you speed, don't get this car. Speeding wears on the slow accelerating engine. Made for work commute, not roadtrips or highways.I have a 2003 Kia Rio 4 door automatic cinnamon colored sedan. Kia Rio's have a fun, compact look. It handles well and parks very easily. This being my first car it was affordable AND attractive. I have no complaints. I am improving my driving skills in it being as it's a slower, smaller sedan with the look, price, size, and power I desired. It's definitly a girl car and I feel safe inside it. I'm 4'11' so even a honda civic wouldn't be small enough. I feel secure in tight parking lots and comfortable winding through cars changing lanes. U Turns and 3 point turns aka K turns are a breeze. A great pick for short, slow drivers who don't ask for much. Great for work commute, interstate preferably.
Pros: NOTHING ANYMORE
Cons: ACCIDENT PERFORMANCE
Advice: DONT BUY ONETHE CAR IS AWFUL IN A 35 MILE PER HOUR CRASH.. THE CAR WAS TOTALED.. AIRBAG DEPLOYED.. IF MY SON HAD BEEN GOING A BIT FASTER HE WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT BUY THIS CAR IF YOU HAVE ONE.. GET RID OF IT... ITS AWFUL...
Pros: loud engine and high RPM
Cons: poor gas milage and small gas tank
Advice: It's small nice and cheap, So go head and buy itWhen i drove it was very loud and i liked it. The handling was good when i made a U turn, the brakes were strong and the torque was very good.
Pros: Drivers right hand armrest
Cons: Lack of fold down rear seat for trunk access
Advice: Because rest of world has yet to appreciate KIAs, Bargain low price to cut depreciation. After almost two years still enjoy driving this little car. Bought as an extra car to allow me to keep my 'classic' wheels out of the snow and salt but find I prefer to drive the Rio. Minor problems fixed right away by dealer and overall a well made vehicle. Average 31 mpg with most miles in city, best at almost 40, worst at 22 in dead of winter city driving. Would suggest this car as great basic transportaion to anyone.
Pros: I really like the gas milege and how the car looks.
Cons: I hate the noises the car makes. When it goes 60 or above the wind whistles around the window. VERY ANNOYING! It has very little power and seems to always be winding out when going freeway speed in 5th gear. I get lots of recall notices in the mail too.
Advice: It's a quick cheap fix, but you'll want something else in a year or two. It has some really annoying qualities. The car has very little power. It always feels and sounds like it is really stressed going regular freeway speed. I'm constantly checking that I'm not in the wrong gear. It also has a terribly annoying wind whistling sound as soon as you hit 60. I think it comes from right over the top of the window. The only way to get rid of the loud whistling is to roll down the window. This isn't always an option in the Pacific Northwest with all the rain. So I have to turn up the radio really loud to drown out the sound. I've also gotten three recalled parts notices in the mail since I've had the car. Always some new defective part to worry about.
Pros: The gas mileage
Cons: the fact the ac has to be on for the defrogger to be on.
Advice: You will not regret it. If you are looking for a car to beat the gas prices. This is the second Kia Rio we own.It is what we expected, great gas mileage and preformance for the size and prize. After an ajustment by the dealer, two trips to the shop.It improved on pickup and power. For a 4cyl. it runs very well. The gas mileage is more then expected. 27/33 with the a/c on. as much as 37mpg without the a/c. Which is the only thing I don't like about it. To run the window defrogger the a/c has to be on for it to work.
Pros: smooth ride .. well built
Cons: leg room .. needed more space . cramped on long trips
Advice: if you are normal height or shorter go for it .. a well built car .. if taller get the OptimaI got my 2003 Rio Cinco around Christmas 2003 and really liked the car. I got the loaded version and it had almost everything .. what it lacked was leg room. I'm tall and my legs always hit the steering wheel .. This week I traded it in for a Kia Optima. over all I would tell anyone looking to save money and wanted a solid car to look at the Cinco .. lots of room in the back but not a lot of leg room for tall adults.
