    2003 Kia Rio - (M5) Sedan

    Pros: Drivers right hand armrest

Cons: Lack of fold down rear seat for trunk access

Advice: Because rest of world has yet to appreciate KIAs, Bargain low price to cut depreciation.

After almost two years still enjoy driving this little car. Bought as an extra car to allow me to keep my 'classic' wheels out of the snow and salt but find I prefer to drive the Rio. Minor problems fixed right away by dealer and overall a well made vehicle. Average 31 mpg with most miles in city, best at almost 40, worst at 22 in dead of winter city driving. Would suggest this car as great basic transportaion to anyone.

    2003 Kia Rio - (M5) Sedan

    Pros: Cost

Cons: Everything else. Piece of Junk

    Advice: Buy Japanese, Toyota, etc

The Rio is the worst piece of junk I could have ever bought. I made the biggest mistake in my life purchasing this car. I bought this car brand new. The first weekend after the purchase it rained. My car had a flood of water inside. Turns out there was a huge hole under the dash which was only found and mended the fourth visit to Kia. They tried to fix the problem with new carpets. But the mold had already seeped everywhere. They ulitmately put this nasty deodorizer in the car, which was a disgusting orange. This never went away. We got to a crossroads where they could do no more to rid the moldy smell and they had a rep come see the car. The rep had the audacity to tell me the nasty orange/moldy smell in my car was not unusual and he could not help me out. I got a call from there customer service team who argued with me over the phone of whether there could be mold in the car. She claimed that Kia had magical fabric on the roof and the benches which could not be havens for mold. Meanwhile they devalued my car considerably with a nasty smell. The customer service team of Kia is worthless and defensive. My dad begged me to buy a Toyota, and I wish I did. I implore anyone who reads this NOT to buy Kia. It is a bucket of bolts on wheels that is worth nothing.

    2003 Kia Rio - (M5) Wagon

    Pros: styling

Cons: too much standard equiptment raised the price too high

Advice: stay away from the ugly brown colored interior

drove well and corners like a sports car; I can get on the freeway at a much higher speed going around the cloverleaf on-ramp than I can with some of my old muscle cars.

    2003 Kia Rio - (M5) Sedan

    Pros: The huge trunk space.

Cons: Doesn't pick up speed as fast as I would like.

Advice: Buy one. You won't be disappointed.

I signed a five year lease on 2003 KIA Rio RS last October after test-driving about eight other cars. By far, the KIA surpassed all others in price, appearance, size, trunk space, features and little extras (i.e. the lumbar support and sunglasses storage case/dual ceiling lights). It runs smoothly and quietly, has never failed to start in bitterly cold weather and gets great gas mileage. The five-year bumper-to-bumper warranty and road side assistance sealed the deal. I have only one very small complaint. It doesn't respond as well as I would like when I have to pick up speed very quickly in order to merge with highway traffic. However, this really wouldn't be an issue if I were a better driver. ;-) I strongly encourage anyone with lots of class but not much cash to buy or lease a KIA Rio. It's a really sexy luxury-styled vehicle selling at a bargain basement price! Kelly J. Compeau

    2003 Kia Rio - (M5) Sedan

Pros: My favorite feature is attachments for the car seats they make me feel safer about my children being strapped in!

Cons: The only thing I don't like is my car is not equipt with cruise control but it is not an absolute necessity

Advice: Talk to your dealer about what YOU want not what they want to sell you....They actually do listen to you and meet your requirments!

The day I test drove a Kia Rio was the same day I bought one. I loved the way it looked and the way it handled on the road. Not only did it look sporty and have the exact amount of room I was looking for but it was also right in my price range that I was looking on spending on a used car! The dealership also worked with me and gave me an excellent deal within my tight budget. This car is great for anyone with a small family looking to find an affordable reliable vehicle.

    2003 Kia Rio - (M5) Wagon

    Pros: Hatch Back

    Cons: Breaking/Tires

Advice: Know how it performs in all kinds of weather by carefully testing it under conditions you know you will drive under, Wet/Dry/Snow

Handling of Automatic Rio Cinco is very loose. Breaking on wet rodes difficult.............Tires do not grab dry surface well either

    2003 Kia Rio - (M5) Sedan

Pros: The sound of the CD player ROCKS!

Cons: No cruise control. Wish I had it.

Advice: It's not a bad machine for the price at all; great warranty!

My 2002 Rio is my baby, but like other reviewers have said, you get what you pay for. It drives down the highway so smoothly, you really do have to watch your speed. A shopping cart hit my side front, left a dent which indicated VERY light guage shell. Not much pick-up. My brother got 2003 Rio, transmission broke down on hi-way after only 2 days. It's a machine, not great but by far, not bad. It's a cute car.
