Pros: Stow and Go
Cons: Road noise
Advice: Great buy for the pricegreat price...could have gotten 'much more' car for the price but I LOVE my minivan!!!!!
Advice: Buy after 2005 new designThe Kia Sedonna 2005 has major brake problems. Rotors wearing out car shakes at that point i have had multiple brakes replaced atleast 10 x still not working correctly. The sad part about this vehicle is it drives better than most vans but they just cant fix the brakes... I have been told the van is too heavy for the brakes they are using even there redesigned brakes dont work .. They have a major brake problem ...
Pros: Lots of power
Cons: Taking the back seats out , very cumbersome
Advice: Read what I have said above about the brakesThis is our second Sedona. We had a 2002 and the only real problems were the brakes(rotors wearing quickly), and the door latches not working when extremely cold. We traded that one in for a 2005. It is more or less the same van, and have been very pleased overall. On this van the brakes again had to be turned at 38,000 KMS. VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ- My mechanic from Speedy stated that the biggest mistake peolpe make when taking thier vehicles back to the dealership to get servicing done, is that they do not adjust and clean the rear brakes. He states they can come out of adjustment qiute easily and when working properly they should perform 25% of the braking. My rear drum brakes were out of adjustment badly enough to provide only 10% of the braking. Thus putting most of the energy on the front rotors. He suggests that I should be able to get double the life out of my front rotors by doing a brake cleaning and adjustment twice a year. Also USE THE TRANSMISSION AND GEAR DOWN GOING DOWN HILLS. This will extend the life of your brakes dramatically.
Pros: the roomy interior
Cons: having to deal w/Kia
Advice: I would not buy if I had to do it all over againVan broke down on vacation, something major w/motor @ 46,000 mi. Kia will not honor warranty!! DO NOT BUY A KIA, they treat their customers like dirt and will not honor that wonderful warranty they talk about.
Pros: Interior is well designed with a family in mind.
Cons: AC problems, and noise.
Advice: Pay more for a better built minivan, and make sure you hear no noises, or see things out of place.I bought a 2007 Kia Sedona short wheel base in April at Holler Kia in Winter Springs, Florida. The test drive was nice, and it had been the 3rd one I took in a brand new Kia Sedona. The problems begun the next day. The dealer and the company know they have a coil problem in their AC compresors, so they are noisy and start to clink all over. The dealership already replaced mine once and it has already started to make the noise. The minivan also has a terrible noise problem when driving in uneven surfaces, a sign of the mediocre quality or workmanship at the factory compared to a Honda Odissey or Chrysler Town & Country, which I have tested or been in. Overall, I dislike noise in a brand new car and if I would have detected it during the test drive, I would have not bought this car. What drove me to buy it whas the roominess, the price and the decent interior of the car, plus, I needed a bigger car for my family. When it comes to gas consumption, the Sedona is a V6 like most minivans. It has plenty of power, but at a price. I get approximately 15-17 miles per gallon in the city. The real test will be when the car is older to see first, if the dealer honors the warranty when the van starts falling apart. I will not buy another KIA ever again.
Pros: Stow and Go Seating
Cons: Seats are a little hard
Advice: NoneHaving had vans or minivans for the past ten years I liked the feel of the Sedona. The smooth, quiet ride was good and it handled itself well. I like to have some pep in my van for passing, and when hauling a load of people, and this van has some pep.
Cons: Check engine light will not go out
Advice: NEVER BUY AN VEHICLE FROM KIA!I bought 2002 Kia Sedona new and have had constant problems with it. It currently has a rejection sticker on it. The dealer, who is apathetic, has washed their hands of our car, even though we spent $1500.00+ trying to fix it. Everything is bad with this vehicle. Doors do not close properly, wind noise has been a constant problem, and the dealer had the car for 2 months when we bought it because it needed a new wiring harness. A word to the wise. Do not buy a Sedona or any car from Kia. The only thing worse than the cars are the dealers who service them.
