    2002 Kia Optima - LX V6 (A4)

    Pros: The body

    Cons: drop in property value

Advice: see what else is out there

I bought my Kia Optima LX in January of 2006. It was a 2002 and drove wonderful. After it hit 60,000 miles second gear would stick in low gears(it was a manual) and i would have to force it out. and the brakes were the most squeaky things i ever heard before and the dealership said nothing was wrong. i never had one mechanical problem with for the year that i drove it. i also got into a car accident some guy ran into the driver side and the car is recked. beware of the retail price my kia did not hold its retail at all.

Pros: Apperance is neat aircon is cool

    Cons: Nothing

    Advice: Buy this car

I bought the car used last year in april I have driven the car to Pennsylvania (Pocono Mt) and gave me no trouble at all. the gas is great, the ride is smooth. I climbed to colorado Rocky Mountain with no problem. The car had 4 Cylinder and I can't believed how strong it is until I have driven it back and forth from Calif to Pennsylvania approx 7,400 miles. I recommend this car to everyone. My car is still look new I had 117,000 and still running without problem never been to the shop. Ijust change the Oil and Spark Plugs.

    2006 Kia Optima - EX (New) (A5)

    Pros: 6-CD player as standard.

Cons: Cup holders not suited for coffee mugs.

Advice: Camry may have gotten the award, but this car has so much more for the money.

Comfortable, quiet ride and responsive 4 cylinder. Handling is precise and the auto-manual shift feature is great for mountain driving. Steering wheel audio and cruise controls are nice. So many extras such as heated mirrors, power seat, auto-day/night mirror, fog lights. Absolutely happy with this car.

    2007 Kia Optima - EX (A5)

Pros: styling and the solid feel and the Infinity sound system is awesome!

Cons: It could get better gas milleage (I have gotten around 33 mpg).

Advice: Don't be 'snobbed' into a much more expensive vehicle...quality doesn't have to be expensive

My first impression after driving this vehicle was 'this is a Kia?' It felt solid and sure footed in any situation. Drives like a dream and is super quiet inside the cabin. It has good road feel and takes bumps and imperfections in the road with ease. Great fit and finish and the paint job is perfect. The 4-cyc. has plenty of power and good low-end torque for pulling into traffic. Cruises at high speeds with ease with very little engine noise. All-in-all, a very pleasant vehicle to drive.

    2006 Kia Optima - EX (New) (A5)

    Pros: over-all driving experience

Cons: the mileage could be better

Advice: do yourself a favor...drive one

What can I say..Kia makes really good vehicles. They're affordable and so far very dependable. Solid feel throughout, great ride, attention to detail shows in all areas, 4-cyl has lots of power, fit and finish ranks with Toyota and Honda. 24/34 gas mileage is ok, could be better and probably will be in models to come. The Optima is fun to drive and responds like a family sport sedan. Sound system is top of the line (Infinity). You cannot beat the warranty! Don't be 'snobbed' into buying less affordable 'cookie cutter' cars. Kia shines!

    2005 Kia Optima - LX (M5)

Pros: It looks nice for a Korean car.

Cons: The doors are flimsy and there is definately a gas mileage issue with this car.

Advice: Get more info on the gas mileage. I don't know about anywhere else but in NY it costs $3.40 &up per gal.

I have an LX Optima,4 door sedan (4 cylinder) that I bought just last month. The reason I'm writing this is I'm very concerned that the info I was told regarding gas mileage and reality are very different. I was told by the Dealer that highway miles ranged from 30mpg to 34mpg, but the experience I have says more like 23mpg. Does anyone have a similar story?

    2006 Kia Optima - EX (New) (A5)

    Pros: ride and interior

    Cons: ABS not standard feature

Advice: go with 4cyl and leather package

Outsanding styling, ride, quality, and performance. I purchased EX 4 CYL, leather package, ABS package, and sunroof. Imfinity audio system outstanding with amp and sub woofer. Compared to sonata, accord, camery, altima much better value. No cons to date. purchased based on christian wardlaw artice
