    2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport - Hard 4x4

Pros: Shift on the Fly 4WD

Cons: Cost of the 30,000 mile scheduled maintance service, WOW!!!

Advice: Find the most RELIABLE and REPUTABLE Dealership possible.

I have had my Rodeo Sport for three years now and it has been a great vehicle. I've put over 56,000 miles on it so far and have had very little trouble with the vehicle. Had to replace a leaking axle seal at about 39,000 but that was done under warranty. I have to agree with most reviews, Isuzu dealerships in general suck! I had to take my Rodeo Sport to the dealer 3 times before they would admit I needed the warranty repair. Now, there is NO DEALER within 60 miles of my residence, not convenient at all.

    2002 Isuzu Axiom - Base 4x2

    Pros: TOD

Cons: GoodYear tires (Get rid of them quick)

Advice: Try to get the dealer to fork over better tires.

Keep it in 'sport' mode. 'Comfort' seems to be for those lazy empty highway drives. The GoodYear Integrity tires are not matched properly to this vehicle. They squeal at low cornering speeds and at acceleration. Replace them as soon as possible.

    2004 Isuzu Rodeo - 3.2L 4x4

    Pros: small, but roomy

Cons: my engine died after 6000 miles, and no one will help me to get a loaner, or care rental it is going to be a few weeks to fix

Advice: managers of customer service need to watch the 'GIVE THEM THE PICKLE' movie about business

The truck drove nice at the time of purchase, but shouldve died within 6000 miles, the cam shaft and other problems in the engine broke!!!!!!!!!

    2005 Isuzu Ascender - 4x4

Pros: 2WD, 4WD, 4WD LO, and AWD available on the fly.

Cons: lack of side airbag canopy

Advice: You get more features for you money in this Isuzu model, vs, Pilot, Highlander, Santa Fe, Xterra, Escape, etc.

I test drove over a dozen SUVs in the small to mid size category. I had never driven a Isuzu until today and I bought it. I found the features competitive or better than other SUVs in the market. It didn't have everything I wanted, so if Isuzu is listening, please add the side airbag canopy, otherwise I love it. Best features: it has 2WD, AWD, and 4WD availabe on the fly, 6-disc CD changer, large comfortable seats, powerful engine with reasonable gas mileage for its size. I recommend it.

    2005 Isuzu Ascender - 4x2

Pros: The overall look! The outside and inside breathes luxury even though the Ascender is not a luxury SUV .

Cons: I'm 6'2' and the bucket seats are little bit stiff and uncomfortable. About a 7 out of 10.

Advice: Not all affordable cars are perfect. I rate the Ascender 8 out of 10. A definate must buy.

We were looking for a SUV for sometime and for one reason or another we could never agree on the same one...Until the Ascender. The test drive was great! Took a little getting used to after driving a camero for the last 11 years. Gas mileage isn't great but if you want gas mileage, buy a civic. The car rides smooth and handles potholes very well. You sit above the traffic and get a great view of your surroundings. Parking is at a premium in Hawaii but the Ascender handles all parking stalls with ease. The dual climate control is great and cools the car down in record time. The car doesn't surpress the outside noise well but thats alright. Just play The Allman Brothers Greatest Hits on the CD player and drowned out all the outside distractions.

    2002 Isuzu Rodeo - LSE 3.2L V6 (A4) 4x2

Pros: Realizing it is my wife's ride and not mine...

Cons: communicating with local Isuzu dealer...

Advice: Buy a chevy or ford!

Buyer beware! This vehicle is full of rattles, vibrations and mystery problems. Each time we take it to the dealer for warranty work it come home with a new set of problems. Moore Isuzu of Glendale, Arizona is constantly telling us the vehicle's problems are not covered under warranty :( Here's the latest - 33K miles - extreme vibration @ highway speeds, ticking noise from a/c blower, squeeling a/c compressor, rear drum brake issues, extreme wind noise... etc... Deal says 'not covered or unable to replicate these problems @ dealership. I'm contacting AZ Attorney General Office tomorrow :) Email me if your interested in a class action lawsuit against Isuzu for failure to uphold warranty...

    2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport - 2.2L Hard (M5) 4x2

    Pros: Truck like feel

    Cons: radio

    Advice: excellent buy

Handles very well on dirt roads. Does well in snowy conditions. A lot of bang for your buck. No complaints. People who do complain expected a Cadillac and got a true SUV.
