Pros: Handling & Ride
Cons: Heated seats are slow to heat up.
Advice: Well worth a test drive. I drove the BMW X3, Porshe, Jeep Overland, Acura MDX, Lexus RX330 and the FX stood out as the clear winner in value and performance. This is the best handling SUV in its price range - out performs the Porche for a lot less. Intelligent Cruise control works great and is a feature well worth getting! Drives like a sports car, with the quality and technology of a luxury car.
Pros: Emphasizes Sport over Utility
Cons: Sacrifices Utility for Sport
Advice: The FX is a SUV for drivers, not passengers or cargoI've had an FX35 with the the Touring, Performance and Technology Packages for 8 months and 11,000 miles. The FX emphasizes the 'S' in SUV. The FX35's 280 hp engine is more than adequate and its manumatic transmission is excellent, the sport suspension is taut and doesn't allow much body roll, the 20' wheels and tires are wide and grippy, the exhaust note is the best available from a V-6 engine, and the seats are supportive and comfortable, even for passengers. However, the FX sacrifices the 'U' in SUV. It has a stiff ride for passengers, more engine noise than most passengers like, rear doors that must be opened wide for entry and egress, and little cargo room. Performance negatives include an adaptive cruise control that does not function smoothly or reliably enough, a slightly wide turning circle of 38.7 ft, and poor gas mileage (16.7 mpg on the highway at 80 mph and 15 mpg or less around town). The lane departure monitor works well enough to be useful during long highway excursions. The nav system's maps are 2 to 3 years out of date and its user interface, both the display and the controls, could be greatly improved. However, as a driver, I prefer the FX's balance of 'S' and 'U' over that of any other SUV I have driven.
Pros: unique look
Cons: absolutely nothing
Advice: go for it. It is an awsome suv.perfect urban SUV. Great Handling and get up. Very Comfortable. Awesome unique look. A++
Pros: AWD system.
Cons: A little noisy.
Advice: Just go for it.This is a real SUV(SPORT Utility Vehicle). It is very fun to drive (Like a sport car) and it has Off-road capabilities. It is just Perfect.....
Pros: looks, sporty drive
Cons: EXPENSIVE REPAIRS, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Advice: DON'T BUY ITI own an FX35 AWD (2004). It has 24,000 KM on it and I have had to have the DVD player changed (no charge) and now have to replace the AC condenser at a cost of $1300. After spending $60000 on the car and not even reaching the 30,000 mark, Infinity of Canada and my local dealership would provide absolutely NO support in resolving my issue. They said it was a road hazard issue due to a rock hitting the condenser (no way that can be proven to be true). I was previously very happy with the vehicle, but after this episode I will definitely NOT be buying infinity again . Customer Satisfaction is obviously NOT a concern of theirs!
Pros: The horsepower 280 horses, 0-60mph in 7 secs, or less and weighs in at 4300lbs.
Cons: a bit of harsh ride. but thats due to the sports suspension.
Advice: Buy it do not think about it!This is one unbelievable vehicle. They say it stars off at 37,000$ but really nicely equipped and i suggest going for the sports package with the suspension and 20inch rims for 2k more, the end result is about 45,000$. A bit of a harsh ride, but it drives, corners, accelerates and stops like a full sedan/coupe, with the luxuries of an mid-size SUV.
Pros: 280 Hp and handling
Cons: Small entry way into back prohibits some large cargo
Advice: Buy it and enjoy- really a top notch sports car with SUV featuresThis car is a blast to drive. I never use crusie control anymore because it is so much fun to have that throtle at your command. I have owned my FX 35 for over a year, and still get stopped all of the time by people asking about it. I drove it to a party recently and it struck up many conversations. Not one single issue to bring it into the shop except for oil changes. Infiniti really hit a home run with this SUV. Agter driving it I don't want to drive anything else, and would buy another in a second.
