Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Quality of workmanship, seats, clear and easy to read gages, standard options that everyone else wants you to pay for.
Cons: Windshield wipers met in the middle of the drivers view and can leave a line that can be hard to see threw. Arm rest to short, needs to be longer.
Advice: BUY IT... I test drove the Mazda Tribute first and bought the Hynudai Tucson, that should say it all.I purchased my 05 Silver 2WD GLS Tucson over one year ago and still love it. I looked for about 6 months before deciding to buy it. I read the other reviews and agree with all of them in that the 'TUCSON' is the very best buy for the buck. You can not beat the warranty, comfort standard options and cargo space. I have been averaging 20-21 MPH between city/highway driving. I know that others have said 17, so I do not know what they are driving but considering that this is a V-6 Automatic, I do not see any of the other SUV's matching this in the V-6 class. The arm rest is the only bad thing for it is way to short for individuals who need to move the seat all the way up, but everything else is just right for me. I bought my Tucson for me but my wife fell in love with it and is know thinking about trading in her truck for a Tucson too.
Pros: Warranty, sporty appearance, interior comfort and versatility, road handling, value
Cons: Gas mileage is between 18-22 so far- lower than I expected based on advertising
Advice: Compare gas mileage with other similar vehiclesA fun-to-drive 'peppy' vehicle (V-6) with precise road handling characteristics; comfortable seats; simplicity of controls; automatic downhill downshifting is a bit disconcerting until you get used to it; poor front seat center console placement
Pros: It's exterior appearance
Advice: NonePros: This vehicle is perfect for my wife. A compact SUV that is large/safe enough, and small enough for her to manuever. We've only had is a week, but thus far we really enjoy it. It's a very sharp looking vehicle, and the color we chose (Alpine Frost) get's a LOT of compliments. The cargo space is generous, and it comes with a 'privacy shield' and cargo net. The interior is beautiful. It is a VERY smooth ride. Cons: Miles Per Gallon. Hyndai touts that this vehicle (2.7 V6) gets 21 MPG in the city. However, I haven't been able to get better than 17 MPG with it. The driver arm rest can be a beating, as it has this annoying flip up compartment that you have to almost turn your body to open (as it's so far behind the drivers seat). When I purchased the car from Allen Samuels Dodge/Hyndai in Fort Worth, I got the works with respect to warranties. I also purchased a 37k maintenance plan--and was told it includes car washes. However, when I took it to the dealer to get washed, the service tech looked at me like I was on crack--and informed me they do not offer that. But that's more of a dealer issue thatn issue with the car. All in all, if you are looking for a compact SUV that is 'OK' on gas mileage, easy to manuever--this is a very good vehicle for the price (20k).
Pros: Comfortable interior
Advice: Just buy it, you won't be disappointedExcept fuel consumption it's worth every penny.
Pros: ease of using rear window and door opening
Cons: audio features
Advice: among small suv's offers best valuecomfortable ride audio average, good roominess, controls easy to locate and use--good value--also like tire guage warning light
Pros: Look, handling, price, warranty, comfort, leg room. JUST A CUTE CAR!!!!!!!
Cons: Arm rest between two front seats too low.
Advice: If you can afford anything up to 26Took the Tuscon for a spin today and loved virtually all we could see and feel. It had, what I like to call 'boost' when needed for passing and was a joy to handle around town. The front seats were very comfortable and the rear seats had more than expected leg room. Lots of trays and spaces to fill up with stuff. All controls are easy to use and very accessible. Driving noise was minimal. We loved the exterior look of the vehicle and were equally impressed by the interior too. We loved this vehicle so much that we are going to get the LX 2WD just for the little extras we want to have, such as the 6 CD changer etc. When you add the best warranty in the business to go along with one of the best 'bang for your buck' cars in its class, how can you go wrong. Hyundai does things right; other manufacturers please take note. Not that we will be using them again.
Pros: comfortable seating
Cons: fuel economy not up to expectations
Advice: Buy the six cylinder. It is worth the extra zip.I just got my Tuscon and overall I'm quite satisfied with it. However, the 2.7 six cylinder could have a touch more HP and the fuel economy is less than expected. Other than this I like the way it drives and handles. It is stable and holds the road well. I really like the versatility of the rear fold-down seats and the front pasenger seat forward fold-down. This all provides for a nice level surface for carrying long cargo. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone. I think it is highly under-rated buy the buying public.
