    2002 Hyundai Elantra - (M5) Sedan

    Pros: CD player

    Cons: nothing

Advice: This car is a great deal all around! Get a lot of bang for your buck!

Smooth handling and power make this car a great one to drive. Power steering and cruise control are two features I didn't have in my previous car, and I'm growing to love them!

    2002 Hyundai Sonata - Base (M5)

Pros: The V6 and the Shiftronic Transmission

Cons: Front seat backs are a little stiff for me (just a nit)

Advice: Go and drive the Sonata

I have owned this new Sonata for about a month now and have driven it 1800 miles. This car is a great vehicle, very quite, many features, the V6 has plenty of power for me. My wife saw the Sonata after driving the Elantra and fell in love with it. The styling is great, all the body panels fit nicely, the rear seat room is great, and the interior is attractive. Great sound system. The front seat backs seemed a little stiff at first but either I am getting use to them or they are softening up some. The engine compartment is layed out very well, all the fluid containers are clear so fluid levels can be inspected without cap removal. The 'Shiftronic' transmission feature is also a lot of fun! The quality of this Hyundai appear to be outstanding. No problems so far just fun! This car drives very nice! With the great warranty that Hyundai offers, that helped me put some faith in the 'new' Hyundai Motor Company.

    2003 Hyundai Tiburon - GT V6 (M5)

    Pros: The looks

Cons: No ABS without a sunroof on the automatic

Advice: Make sure you don't need room for more than one adult or teenager. Back seats are for small packages and pets only.

Sharp looks! I get lots of second looks and every kid in a tuner wants to race me, it seems. I haven't given in to the urge to compete....yet. But this car will surprise many people. It is fun to drive and very responsive. I keep reading where testers think the car is slow or underpowered. I beg to differ. It is a bit heavy for it's size, (over 3000 lbs curb weight), but compare it's low end torque and sophisticated engine to any American sports car and you'll be pleasantly surprised. No,it won't blow the doors off a Mustang or Camaro V8, but it will certainly hold it's own against stock Celicas, Probes, Civics, Eclipses and Acura RSX types. I like the spartan interior. It reminds me of German styling and I find it refreshingly simple. It doesn't flaunt it'as style like so many similar car interiors, which I find overdone and plastic. The one professional review here complains about the hatch being hard to close. If he'd looked closer, there's a recessed grip at the lower right of the inside panel, that makes grabbing the spoiler unnecessary. This car's handling is very tight, although it does exhibit a fair amount of understeer (easily compensated for once you get a feel for it) due to the heavier V6. Torque steer is also evident at lower speeds in lower gears, but is manageable. Overall, I love to drive this car. Plenty of punch in it's stock form, above average handling, and the stare factor is very cool!

2002 Hyundai Santa Fe - GLS FWD

Pros: The very well detailed rear cargo area

Cons: cruise control on/off button location

Advice: do your research on line and decide what price you should pay

I did a ton of research before I bought my Santa Fe. Dollar for Dollar you get so much more! On the GLS model so much is standard: Tinted windows, V-6, auto, air, two-tone paint & more! Rides great! Gas mileage 19 mpg city. The warranty cant be beat! I love it! Only con is where the cruise control on/off button is on steering wheel. I keep accidently turning it on.

    2002 Hyundai Sonata - Base (M5)

Pros: The standard AM/FM/CD player with 6 speakers. Sounds awesome!

Cons: I needed a new transmission within the first month of owning the vehicle

Advice: DEFINATELY WORTH THE MONEY!! AMAZING CAR FOR PRICE!

You see the new commercials on T.V. and the car catches your eye. The day I first test drove this vehicle, I knew I was going to buy one. It handles like a dream; smooth, quiet, and sleak. The techtronic shifting automatic transmission is a nice feature to have. The sound system is ten times better than the explorer I previously owned. This vehicle comes standard with keyless entry (an option that once you have, you'll never want to go without), power windows, locks, and mirrors. Basically, you buy the base model and it's already loaded with goodies, unlike most vehicles nowadays. And, on top of all that, you get the best warranty on the market. The only problem I have with the sonata is this: After owning the vehicle for only a week and a half, I took it in for a transmission fluid leak. They found a factory defect and deamed it necessary to replace the entire transmission. I strongly recommend this vehicle to anyone who wants a lot of car for a little money.
