Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Off-road capabilities. I have taken it on some intense trails and it handles the mud and inclines with ease.
Cons: I knew prior to purchasing it the windows are smaller and more difficult to see out the rear and sides. It just takes time getting used to smaller areas to look out of. That did not take long to get used to and is not an issue after the first week.
Advice: Drive one if you do any king of off-roading or camping ect. You will love this truck off of the pavement but it is easy to drive around town unlike a really large 4X4 pick-up.This truck is a pleasesure to drive around town and a great vehicle to off-road with. I had an Explorer prior to getting my H3 a month ago and have found the H3 to drive much better around town and it is no comparison off-road. The turning radius is great and the height of the truck allows for better viewing of the road. The advanture package I purchased with the large tires and off-road suspenion allows for climbing of large curbs around town or logs and rocks off road, I suggest getting the adventure package for looks but also the capabilities. The truck is not super fast but that is not what it is for, the gripping traction from the 4-wheel low lock is unelievable. I left 4 tire burn marks in my driveway going only 4 mphs!
Pros: chopped look of the windows
Cons: headrests on rear seats block rear view. really a minor issue with the big mirrors it has.
Advice: get one todayIt is absolutely one of the best vehicles I have owned. I do miss not having an information center but I guess it's a minor annoyance. Pickup is more than adequate ro me but an optional higher output engine would be nice for people that desire 'more power'.
Pros: Hugh sunroof
Cons: Needs a horn with more authority, it's pretty bad I can only come up with the horn
Advice: Adventure Series Package!!!! its worth every penny for look it adds with the bigger tires to fill the wheel wells and it allows this thing to go just about anywhereDrove it once and had to have it! Traded in 96 Collector Edition Corvette and thought I would leave the dealership with regrets. 32 days and 2800 holiday miles later with very few thoughts about the, what was I driving before? oh well I forgot. Everbody keeps talking about the lack of performance? Sure you're not going to race anyone for pink slips, but this thing performs about as well as the Jeep Commander and Lincoln Aviator that I was also looking at and drove. If I wanted a speed demon I would have kept the Vette. This little monster drives like a dream and gives more sense of security than anything I have driven in a long time, it's a good thing that I'm not insecure about people staring at my vehicle everywhere I go :)
Cons: rear window visability
Advice: custom order your vehicleI have had mine for 3 months now and I do not regret a thing. It has the getup and go that I need, the handling i love and the style of the best. I feel very safe in this vehicle. The one thing I would like to see Hummer add is heater mirrors to clear the snow from them. No problems so far and the dealership has been outstanding.
Cons: No heated exterior mirrors
Advice: Drive the heck out of it and enjoy the rideLove this so much, my husband traded in his 2005 Corvette for one of his own.
Advice: Wait for discounts!I was attracted to this vehicle for its external appearance. After driving I was very unhappy. No power and a cheap interior. Back seats don`t recline for usable space!
Pros: Heavy, safe vehicle
Cons: Visibility is limited with the small windows - we are a short family!
Advice: Have back up sensors put on!I bought this for my 16 year old son, and gee wiz, once I drove it - I wanted it for myself. It handles really well and has the best safety features.
