Pros: Truck bed on SUV
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: compare the resale value against other choices then figure in poor mpg to see if it works for you.The truck is perfect for what I bought it for. An upscale sport ute that can haul something that I wouldn't want inside a normal sport ute. i.e. something dirty, smelly, greasy, etc.. It does fit in the garage which is important. It is much more upscale than anything else that will fit in the garage. Interior is very nice and the overall build quality of mine is great. Gas mileage is averaging 11 mpg which is acceptable to me. I've had F350 crew cab with powerstroke that averaged 10mpg, tahoe 13mpg, Dodge 1500 crewcab 14mpg, chevy express van limited 12mpg so the 11 isn't so bad for me. The wife and I both love it! Resale value better than other large SUV's also.
Pros: Off road capabilities
Cons: No coin holder
Advice: Check your insurance ratesI totally love my H2. I compared it to the Lincoln Navigator and the Cadillac Escalade, but it felt more capable than either. The off-road features are truly the best of the three. It is easy to drive and easy to manuever (for an SUV), it fits in the garage even with the tire on the back, and I can take it through the automatic car wash. It has lot's of torque and I get the feeling it may be next to impossibe to get stuck in snow, mud, sand, etc.
Pros: Interior & exterior appearance, very refined & luxurious, great fuel economy, reasonable price
Cons: Could have more power, otherwise no downside
Advice: HUMMER H3 LEAVES COMPETITION BEHIND - HANDS DOWNI bought my HUMMER H3 this last weekend. When I was at the dealership there were literally not enough H3's in stock to have one for everyone who wanted to buy one. Once you drive the H3, you know why: this HUMMER is BY FAR THE BEST car I have ever driven. I traded in my Mercedes C class and consider my H3 a big step up. It's roomy on the inside, just the way I like it, and it's styling is a vast improvement over the somewhat random and seemingly cheap-looking interior of the H2 - this one is definitely a lot more refined. It has just enough gauges to keep you going and safe, and the arrangement of all instruments is logical and stylish. The leather seats in the Luxury edition of the H3 are as comfortable as they are in the H2 (one of my main worries was that a smaller HUMMER would not be as comfortable as the larger ones - do not fear fellow HUMMER lovers - that's not the case). Space, though not unlimited, is abundant. The exterior remains as edgy as I think a HUMMER should be. It says 'I will not compromise for anything other than what I want, and if you don't like it, that's your problem'. HUMMERS are not for the faint of heart or for people who like to conform. HUMMERS are for individuals who know what they want and don't care what others think about it. And this H3 expresses that. Thanks GM. Finally a car that expresses my character. I love it, and BTW - it's the first American car I have ever bought. GREAT PRODUCT.
Pros: By far the Overall look of the outside!
Cons: You can not drive with the tailgate down because of the spare tire.
Advice: If your buying this for a working truck don't.The bed isnt large enoughWe Love the H-2 SUT. It has lots of room in both the front and back seats. The turning is incredible for a truck this large. The manufacture thought of everything. We put the larger tires and rims on and it looks GREAT. The inside detail is in a class of it's own. When driving this car you truly feel special. However, with the poor gas milage we only use this on the weekends, it has to be the 3rd car in a family.
Pros: Rugged, a great deal of passenger room
Cons: Cost, amount of utility space it tries to offer, etc
Advice: Consider this only if you cant afford a pickup truck and SUV on the same purchase. It's a decent specialty utility vehicle. Actually one of the few decent made American SUV's out there. The exterior is kick-butt rugged but the cab is small, ugly, with poor vision, etc. I only have one dirt bike which would need an extender to the cab to fit in that space. The last review is obviously looking for utility vehicle that is a pickup. No way any SUV can haul a few dirt bikes, ATV, and larger items beyond 4 feet in length. But for hauling about 700 pounds of misc. equipment its great. I guess the best way to describe it is if you work hauling stuff but want something a bit nicer then a pickup then look into this. But for the price of both a Chevy SUV and Nissan pickup to that of one Hummer then look at buying those two vehicles for use seperately (cheaper then a Hummer). If you looking for a nice SUV then get a Range Rover. It's got great interior, huge engine that can handle a trailer hitch, and is about 1000% more comfortable/luxurious. It's a bit much but do what I do- read reviews, ask 'real' people you see with those cars in the parking lot, street, etc... Dealers always swear that the car floats on water if you'll buy one make sure you dont see something else you regret getting instead.
Pros: All the comfortable seats and warmers.
Cons: I wished the exterior antenna went down automatically..it's permanently up.
Advice: It is very easy to drive, don't be intimadated by the looks of the size. If you can drive a truck, you can easily drive this!I love my 2005 Hummer2! I test drove it for two days before deciding between it and a Cadillac Escalade SUV...there is no comparison if you love big nice seats and the safe feeling of all the room around you. Before I bought the Hummer I drove a Toyota Sequoia for two years and when I got back into it after the Hummer it felt like a flimsy piece of metal...Hummers will spoil you so don't even test drive them if you're not serious...the sound system is awesome, love the visibility from the back seats. It makes others in similar class feel like minivans. I have no problem parking it, it cost me $45.00 to fill it up and that is what I paid for Sequoia and I only get a couple a gallons less per mile than before. Cargo space is great in back, you take the seat out and the tire and your set for travel!Rides six very comfortably, plus seats fold flat( in a no nonsense manner) for even more space when loading large items. It has just what I need and not too many silly features that I would never use. You might just be surprised when you give it a good look.
Pros: The Vehicle is very luxurious! You get what you pay for!
Cons: Like all SUV's of this magnitude - Gas Mileage!
Advice: Safest thing on the road for your family! We took this baby on the highway doing well over 80 miles an hour and there was no squeaks, no shimmy nothing! Could steer with one finger. I didn't expect that in a 4x4 and certainly not one with this type of weight. I love my H2!!!!!
