Pros: Sunroof, Color, Large Back Seat
Cons: 4 Cylinders
Advice: Be sure to pay invoicefor most driving the 4 cylnder has enough pickup, but you don't get the feeling of power as you would with a 6. After 3 months of driving it it as been a pleasure to drive.
Pros: Quiet ride.
Cons: Weak engine.
Advice: Find a good dealer. There are some rogue ones out there...Although the Accord VP has the weakest engine of the Accord lineup (as does the DX), it has just enough punch so as not to feel weak. And that engine is the weakest part of this otherwise great, albeit bland looking car. The construction quality, the general feel and truly quiet ride are terrific. Although the plain cloth seats are not the most comfortable, the price - similar to that of a souped up Civic, is worth it. Go for it!
Pros: Styling, resale value, reputation
Cons: blind spots! black is very hard to keep clean!
Advice: take your time and shop all of the honda dealers in your area.. let them know you areToo bad they don't offer the manual transmission with the V-6 Accord, but other than that i think that it is really a great car. I just purchase the 4cyl Accord Sedan and loved it. After trading in a 1997 Accord that i loved, i think they really did a great job. Was very unhappy with the dealership that i bought it from, but at least i have the car and no longer have to deal with the sales dept. Still a great buy.
Pros: Good gas mileage.
Cons: High price, low value, unreliable.
Advice: Honda's reputation for quality and reliability is a joke. You couldn't make a bigger mistake than buying this car.The biggest mistake I've made this year was buying this car. After a horrible experience at the dealership, I ended driving home a car that was a different color than I wanted, had more options (and thus a higher price) than I wanted, and broke down on the way home. Turns out, the transmission was not filled to specs by the factory and the transmission locked up. Since then, (the dealer did replace the transmission) I have had various dashboard lights come on on a daily basis. I will never make the mistake of buying a Honda again.
Cons: slightly bland styling
Advice: test drive both the L4 and V6 before you decideI drove the Camry, Accord, and Altima. The Camry & Altima were all new for 2002, but even though the Accord is 4 model years old it blows away the Toyota & Nissan in ride, comfort, and performance. Plus resale value is typically higher. If the 2002 Accord is still good enough to beat brand new designs, I can't wait until the all new 2003 model arrives!
Pros: All the power accessories standard on the LX model
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Advice: Wait for special deals (we saved $3,000 off sticker)The wife needed a new car since the old one she had been driving finally died. I was ready to buy the car without test driving since we had owned Honda cars before. The salesman insisted that I drive it (remember the car was for the wife). I was pleasantly surprised at the responsiveness of the engine even with the automatic transmission. We were so pleased with the dealership that we returned two weeks later to buy a used Honda for our twenty year old college student.
Pros: smooth, good looking, comfortable
Advice: do some research before purchaseI love my 2002 Honda Accord. We got a good retail price. The car looks beautiful and runs great. So far at 2000 milage the MPG is about 22/30. The ride is smooth and comfortable.
