Pros: style, looks, drive
Cons: no quality in the vehicle
Advice: I wish I would have bought a Honda or ToyotaDon't buy this Chrysler product. Now at 61,000 miles it has been in the shop at least 10 times. The people at the dealership are professional and have been, I believe, trying to make the best out of a bad situation. Everything from brake lights staying on to the door open alarm while driving, to transmission not shifting right to now engine knock that they say is normal. It's a good looking vehicle but, there seams to be very little qaulity in this product. Definately my last Dodge ever to own.
Pros: Sound system
Cons: The roll out seats.
Advice: Go for it.It is the best vehicle I have ever owned. The ride and handleing are great and the seats are confortable.
Pros: Just about everything
Cons: I didnt get a full size spare
Advice: buy it you'll love itI think for all the mini vans that my company has myself and the other 122 drivers noticed that the dodge mini vans were least likely to be in the shop for repairs. We seem to always have the mazdas, nissans, and kia's in for something. But the real funny thing is when those vehicles are in the shop, the older dodge mini vans that were taken out of service due to mileage (195,000 miles) are put back on the road till those are done. I now have a dodge grand caravan due to the harsh miles that the company i work for has had. When you look in our employee parking lot you will see alot of dodge vehicles in it.
Pros: Power doors, rear seat reading lamps, DVD player
Cons: no standard side airbags
Advice: Buy the ES trim line if you can afford it.My family owns a 98 Caravan. With a growing family and ageing grandparents, we really needed more room that the Grand Caravan provided. We test drove the eX trim that the dealer was really pushing. It was OK but the ride just didn't seem very smooth....keenly felt every bump in the road and the brakes were rough. Next, test drove the ES which has the touring suspension and the ride was superior...much smoother for driver & passenger. Planning to keep this family vehicle for the next decade, we purchased the more expensive ES which has a smoother ride and all the bells & whistles. Also, we considered the 2004 Toyota Sienna but the dealership required a $500 deposit just to get one in for a test drive and there was absolutely no haggling on the sticker price. I know Toyota's got an excellent product and is rated 'the best minivan', but that really turned us off. We chose to be repeat Dodge (and American car company) customers and feel we got a roomy, comfortable, feature-loaded quality vehicle for our money.
Pros: versatility and convenience
Cons: minivan stigma, I was hoping for better gas milage
Advice: Check the EX even though it doesn't qualify for 0%/cashbackEX package is a good value w/ the 3.8L engine. I drove it with the 3.3L and didn't consider it safe for my wife to merge on highways with. Power doors gave us some problems early on but I feel the doors make it worth it. Handling is a little tippy but not bad for a minivan. Stereo sounds good. Rear seats are easy to take out and reinstall.
Pros: 3 zone automatic heat/airconditioning
Cons: Disapointing milage
Advice: Get the heated leather seats if you are in a cold climate!!!My first mini-van (traded in a 98 Dorango because of the awful gas milage!) an I really am enjoying all of the toys! Heated seats have become a must on cold mornings, the additional 4 disk cd changer is great, the kids love the headphones (and we like the lack of arguments over what to listen to!). We waited until vans offered two sliding doors, and the power doors and liftgate are great. Overall, I'm impressed with everthing except the milage, which has yet to approach the EPA estimates.
Cons: Seats and reliability
Advice: DON'T BUY this or any other Chrysler productThis I have to say is the WORST vehicle that I have ever owned. I now have the vehicle 14 months and it has been back to the shop 12 times for part failures, door failures and recalls. The transmission intermittantly causes the whole vehicle to vibrate when sitting at lights. The MPG is well below the advertised amounts and its fit and finish is terrible. Thanks to this vehicle I will NEVER buy another American vehical again. Hello Toyota.
