2003 Dodge Dakota - SLT 4x2 Club Cab
Pros: Lots of power from the 4.7 V-8.
Cons: Unsure what the future holds.
Advice: Go with the 4.7 or 5.9 V-8.At this point I have just over 500 miles on this truck and I love it. It has mean looks, strong V-8 power, good brakes, great steering, etc. I cannot think of a single thing I dislike about it. The fact that my wife loves it as much as I do is another plus. However, I also know that at 500 miles I still have a long way to go before I will know how good this truck will really be to me. If the truck stays good to me, I will be at Dodges side no matter how long I own it. However, I will not stand by and be easy if it turns into a lemon. As you can see by my attitude I have been there and done that when it comes to lemons, so I cannot help being on guard.
2002 Dodge Dakota - SLT 4x4 Regular Cab
Pros: 4.7 V8
Cons: everything else
Advice: stay awayAbsolutely a piece of junk. I have owned this vehicle for six months and thus far have had the front windshield replaced, the back windshield replaced, all four tires, the seat is broken, has water leaks since purchased. The wind noise is so bad you cannot hear the radio. In addition, there is a vibration in the front since purchase and the vehicle road walks. DaimlerChrysler states most of these problems are normal. They lie very well.I would not recommend a Dodge Dakota to my worst enemy.
